System won't power on

Pretty much when the power button is pressed nothing happens. It was working fine up until a few weeks ago (it's my parents computer). A friend checked the PSU and said it's outputting power correctly, and the motherboard's green light is shining bright. Any ideas as to what it could be? My thoughts...

Touchpad and mouse buttons not working

Staring recently(I'm not sure when, I usually use an external mouse), the touchpad and buttons under it have stopped working for me. The keyboard is fine, and my external mouse works fine as well(USB), this occurs under both Ubuntu and Windows XP. Any ideas?

Building a Laptop

Hey I haven't been around it a while, but I come seeking assistance. I'm looking to build a laptop for myself for college. I will in all likelihood not be bringing my desktop so I need it to be my main PC, which means games + normal things(hopefully running Ubuntu full time). I'm aiming for a budget...

Well, looks like we are back up and running, the look could use some work, although the full widescreen effect is better.

If I can maintain my other PC for gaming, absolutely, the Air would be perfect for mobility+coding, with my primary machine being used for gaming exclusively.

Sorry, no. See if a friend will let you borrow his Windows XP SP2 or SP1 install disc. Note that there are special instructions for using Dell CDs since they are missing a few files. I ran that(I have also run CHKDSK /f without the gui), and I have defragged, that doesn't seem to work, someone suggested that I backup the virtual disks, than reinstall wubi and replace the virtual disks, this makes sense since it appears the problem is external to linux, any idea?

PIL (Python Imaging Library) may be worth a look. I can say from first-hand experience that the Windows port of it seems to work reasonably well. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to integrate with IIS though (which I'm assuming is what you're trying to do). I like PIL as well, though I haven'...
