Downloaded, and installed the linux .rpm, and took me a minute to find the config.xml.. but long story short, she's up, and churning out some WU's.

I've got some free CPU time on one of my nodes.. it isn't loads of free cycles, but it's additional cycles. I'd be happy to contribute, but not sure how.

Seagate showing off 60TB SSD

https://techcrunch.com/2016/08/10/seagate/

According to Seagate, the technology should “delive[r] the lowest cost per gigabyte for flash available today.”

Maybe next year we'll see yet another crazy drop in flash prices... at least here's to hoping

I see we still need condiments; so I'll grab those. It also seems like we could use some water. Maybe I'll grab a gallon jug of Gatorade concentrate too. What all should I bring/and qty? Re: Reccomendation for Server HDD - semi unique situation

Yeah, I know the MSA60 is EOL .. but if one wants to be technical, so is the DL380 G5.. So I'm not absolutely against older hardware; it generally seems pretty reliable once you enter the enterprise grade equipment. The P410 doesn't have any external SAS ports, so you'll be looking at getting a P812...

Re: Reccomendation for Server HDD - semi unique situation

Oh I didn't think about getting the storage box; I'll have to call the data center tomorrow. As far as the smart attributes getting passed, it has the HP P410 SAS RAID controller and earlier I put a Samsung ssd into one of the bays and ran smartctl and it couldn't obtain the smart stats. Just came u...

Reccomendation for Server HDD - semi unique situation

Hey Gerbils, Quick background, I am running an HP DL380 G5, with all 8 SAS hot swap drive bays filled, and the full size PCIe slot occupied with two 480GB SSD's using a Sonnet Tempo SSD Pro. A customer called and now I need to upgrade the storage because I need to add around 1TB of storage to this a...

Re: Moving Windows from one HDD to a brand new SSD

I did this exact thing with one of my computers; used macrium reflect (free edition) and used the clone tool. It addressed the partition resize and copied everything.
Shutdown the computer and swapped the sata cables and booted right up with no issues.

Good luck!

Re: Air conditioner unit making annoying bubbling noise

HVAC Tech here... First glance at the issue I'd suspect it's low on refrigerant (as in they didn't put enough charge into the system/small leak at a brazed joint). If there is a sight glass on the liquid line by the compressor unit outside it should be clear, as in no bubbles in it. If there is bubb...

You may want to check out Traxxas.com .. especially the "Rustler" stadium truck. Simple 2WD drive-line, and parts are very cheap and readily available. Comes with an exploded diagram. They're fairly durable, and was one of my first RC cars that wasn't a Radio Shack piece of crap. It's set ...

High temperature electrolysis and a compression reactor? That's a lot of energy input to basically convert the two primary products of hydrocarbon combustion back into a fuel form. Wouldn't bank on that being "net green" anytime in the near future. I realize this and am not making assumpt...
