Re: Stupid and terrible software.

We are. And despite promises it's going away, it looks at this point that it will still be around when we migrate to Windows 10. Wait, what? The email software that failed back in the mid-90's is still around? I've seen and used Novell Groupwise* zombie installations at large companies, but I've no...

I have the iPhone 6 with iOS 11; and I've had it numerous times where I'll have to wait sometimes 10-15 seconds for the messages app to open to respond to a text; or press a text box and wait for the keyboard to eventually show up, only to wait more time for it it register any in...

Seagate showing off 60TB SSD

https://techcrunch.com/2016/08/10/seagate/

According to Seagate, the technology should “delive[r] the lowest cost per gigabyte for flash available today.”

Maybe next year we'll see yet another crazy drop in flash prices... at least here's to hoping

Re: Reccomendation for Server HDD - semi unique situation

Yeah, I know the MSA60 is EOL .. but if one wants to be technical, so is the DL380 G5.. So I'm not absolutely against older hardware; it generally seems pretty reliable once you enter the enterprise grade equipment. The P410 doesn't have any external SAS ports, so you'll be looking at getting a P812...

Reccomendation for Server HDD - semi unique situation

Hey Gerbils, Quick background, I am running an HP DL380 G5, with all 8 SAS hot swap drive bays filled, and the full size PCIe slot occupied with two 480GB SSD's using a Sonnet Tempo SSD Pro. I did this exact thing with one of my computers; used macrium reflect (free edition) and used the clone tool. It addressed the partition resize and copied everything.
Shutdown the computer and swapped the sata cables and booted right up with no issues.

Good luck!

Re: Air conditioner unit making annoying bubbling noise

HVAC Tech here... First glance at the issue I'd suspect it's low on refrigerant (as in they didn't put enough charge into the system/small leak at a brazed joint). If there is a sight glass on the liquid line by the compressor unit outside it should be clear, as in no bubbles in it. If there is bubb...
