Re: Logitech Z5500 and it's crappy satellites...

Yea, that was the reason I got a used Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 Ultra instead of a discount deal on a Z 5500.. Klipsch is great.. when it works :)

Re: Win one of three Asus Xonar sound cards

I got a Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeMusic (discontinued model) connected to a used Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 Ultras (which had to be fixed 2 times already haha). While the Klipsch is discontinued and has reliability issues, it is way better than the competitor Logitech Z5500. My previous card was a Diamond ...

Re: Windows Vista system repair?

Vista does support the feature that I was looking for via "Upgrade Windows" feature, however, since my DVD was non-SP1 and the installed version was SP1, I could not use the Upgrade Windows from the DVD. I could not uninstall SP1 (AppWiz.cpl crashed, and pkgmgr kept failing after working f...

Windows Vista system repair?

I am fixing a computer for someone... Vista boots up fine, but then Explorer keeps crashing, for pretty much any window type, from Computer, to Control Panel, to Internet Explorer launch. I never used Vista, so I was wondering if Vista supports the same automated System repair as WinXP has on the in...

Re: Portable mp3 player and drag-and-drop

Someone else pointed me to COWON D2+ which has 16GB and SDHC expansion (as you suggested). Claims to have 52hr music playing life. Cheaper than iPod. Plays all kinds of formats. But people claim that it has buggy UI. Also someone stated that you can not listen to music while having the unit plugged ...

WinXP SP3 runaway service

I am working on my friend's computer, which had some spyware on it at some point. After getting rid of that spyware I was told that the computer could not use the internet, and was asked to fix it. When I got the computer, it connected to the internet just fine, infact, other than having a bunch of ...

Portable mp3 player and drag-and-drop

It has been a long time since I looked at the state of mp3 players out there, and a lot seems to have changed. I am looking for a modern mp3 player with plenty of space (32GB +) that would have excellent battery life (over 24hr) and drag-and-drop support, where I can just dump my folders with music ...

Using PC 50' away, keyboard/mouse question

Hi, I live in an apartment, where my tower sits in my room at my desk, along with my monitor and everything else... I just bought an HDTV for the living room, where I already have my Onkyo receiver with surround sound set up. I have the sound forwarded to the reciever from the PC via optical cable. ...

Windows profiles to use one folder?

Can WindowsXP be forced to use one folder for all the users? Things like.. Application Data, Local Settings, Desktop, My Documents all be shared? Basically, a user logs into a machine for the first time, and authenticates through NDS or AD. Normally, WinXP checks to see if a user already has a profi...

Those indeed work at mapping the printer, and take care of the login requirement at the same time. The only thing they dont do is install the driver for the printer. So I am tinkering with the printui to install the driver by using an inf file... Thanks! (yea, the project went on the backburner a wh...

Adding printers without user intervention (script)?

Hi, I am trying to develop a script that a user can run in order to set up our lab printers on a the user's laptop. The printer queues are set up on a server within our AD network. Since the user name on our AD network may not match the user name on their personal laptop, a way needs to exist for th...

Windows XP Default Login to be Active Directory

Hi, I have a Windows XP Pro machine on an active directory. I need the login to default to Active Directory type instead of being set to whatever the last person loged in as. For example, the way it is set now, if a user logs in with a local account, such as Administrator, the next time the machine ...

Well, Seasonic payed for shipping both ways with the RMA on their power supply. The new power supply got me solid green light, and works just fine. Now I am messing around finding my max stable overclock. Thanks everyone for suggestions.

Incredimail email transfer to Outlook

I want to get rid of Incredimail XE and import all the
email data into Outlook 2003. Incredimail exports it in a .cab file format that I saved on my desktop. I do not see that type of file as an
option for importing into Outlook 2003. Does anyone know how I
would do this?

Thanks,

There is one that overclocks really well...
