Re: Have to keep unplugging USB device to make it work

do you have another machine to test the device on? if it does the same thing on another machine, most likely that the usb interface is going bad on it. I had an external USB enclosure do the same thing and in the end I replaced the enclosure as it was dying.

Re: ATI AGP 'Hotfix' Drivers Not Signed; Windows Forbids

And speaking of Vista and 7, I'm intending to avoid those and stick with XP as long as I possibly can. I guess I'll have to switch eventually, like it's inevitable, but not now, I don't! No *beep*ing way! You can make something of a case for XP over Vista, but 7? No, you can't...well not unless you...

Re: The laptop battery guide

1. all modern laptops will automatically stop charging when the battery is full and there is no reason to remove it from the machine
2. putting the battery in the fridge is bad especially in high humidity areas

Re: Can Bluetooth device for cell work on Computer

one you have the BT adapter and you pair it, WIndows will report it as a BT audio device or some other thing depending upon what it's capabilites are. MY phone shows up as an audio gateway (this means I can use my PC as a speaker phone)

Re: Dude, where's my 4GB?

This applies to WIndows NT x86 when you do not use PAE. 1. The OS total addressable memory space is 4GB, this includes physical ram and the device I/O table. This applies when using PAE. 1. PCI devices must support > 32bit addressing ( a whole crapload of them do not) for best stability and performa...

Point and shoot cameras that have Time/Date Stamps on pix?

I need a decent point and shoot camera that will time/date stamp photos for my up coming trip. I know the camera encodes the date into the picture but I need a timestamp on the photo.

Thanks

Re: Enter here for a chance to win a free Just Cause 2 license

The very first PC build of my own was a Z-station 425 that got "lost" during shipment and was later returned to the shipper (my friend) completely gutted. I then proceeded to upgrade them with a 486 DX/2-66, 16MB of ram, AB 16 audio card, 4x Toshiba CD-Rom, WDC 80MB hdd, and an extra 256K ...

Re: Seeking Laptop Advice

get a new laptop and get one with the largest battery possible at the time of purchase. I got a vostro 1400 almost 2 years ago and a 9 cell battery at the time. Buying the battery after purchase will typically set you back $150 or so versus the $50 upgrade price.
