Re: New MB results in BSOD during Windows 7 X 64 Startup

The new install of Windows 7 did the trick. I did a fresh install on a new hard drive. So now I have two hard drives with Windows 7 installed. Th4e hard hard drive is in the PC but not powered up or connected. Any suggestions on the best way to migrate programs, files, photos, videos, etc. from the ...

Re: New MB results in BSOD during Windows 7 X 64 Startup

Hi All,

Thanks for the input. I am trying the fresh install as suggested since every other effort has resulted in the same BSOD requesting I run CHKDSK.

You were right it is an ASUS MB.

New MB results in BSOD during Windows 7 X 64 Startup

Hi All, I installed a new ASUS P5N-T MB and get a BSOD during Windows Startup right after the four colored squares swirl around and get fuzzy. I have tried starting in Safe Mode and I get the same result. Any suggestions? I have Windows 7 X64. My old MB was a Gigabyte. I have a Q6600, 4GB or Ram, on...

Re: UnitedGerbilNation's drive to the Top

While I'm not particularly interested in helping UGN, if you have a C2D-compatible motherboard, I might be interested in buying it. Depending on what it can do, I'll use it for my C2D 6400 or C2Q 8400 processor (which is already running on a Gigabyte P965 board), and take my pokey dual core Athlon ...

Re: New Notfred diskless version out

Hi NotFred, Will your folding disk allow 4 instances of GPU folding? How much RAM would be required? I am shipping a folding node to Emcubed that will have two 9800GX2s and he wants to use your folding disk.

Thank you for your support.

I can be an alternate host if things don't work out. Hey M-cubed! Long time no forum post exchange! I just made a post in the UGN thread about having extra parts to make another node. in your wifes pc, split the drive into 3 partitions... then slap it back in! that will tell you if its a chipset issue (sata controler) or a windows issue. also i did not see you post any results of the gparted test. i would see if you can see the while drive in gparted as well to exclude windows a...

The drive shows up in my MB BIOS so I do not think it is a cable problem. But I will try swapping the cable just to be sure.

Re: Help with HDD recognition in Win 7 X64

How many other HDD do you have attached to your main system? If there are other drives, then how much is their aggregated capacity? Because, I suspect there might be an issue with your controller. Because, most eariler SATA controllers have issues when they attempt to handle more than 3-4TiB of tot...

Help with HDD recognition in Win 7 X64

I have a new 1 TB Western Digital Green Cavier WD 10EADS hard drive that is not showing up in Windows 7 X64. I see it on the MB BIOS (always as a slave). I have tried several different SATA connection points on my MB and I installed a jumper on pins 5 & 6 to reduce speed to SATA 150 just in case...
