Re: Firefox Hacked with Rogue Plugin... by its own developers

Confirmed doesn't load on any of the usual browsers here. I too have been a fan of FF since beta... but I've mostly switched to Chrome because it doesn't crap out as much as FF has on me lately and the profiles haven't corrupted, ect. It was a REALLY sad day that I switched to Chrome a few months ag...

Re: OEM dvd, W10 Key Where?

Ahhh yeah that must be new. I've seen a variety of Win 7/10 stickers. They always try to stay ahead of counter-fitting operations and people using them for resale. Like Ludi said, they really entrench licenses into the hardware profiles now. So the chances of someone being able to migrate those over...

Re: OEM dvd, W10 Key Where?

There should be a key on the front blue envelope. Even if that actual key was removed, there is a piece of sticker border around the actual COA. That portion will literally tell you that itself isn't a COA . So if you see that portion saying that, then someone stole it. Here is a picture of a COA re...

Re: Nixeus EDG 27 thoughts

I finally had to time to call Nixeus to let them know that the Bezel isn't flush and the odd mark on the bottom bezel along with the simple and stupid screws being mix matched between the base and VESA mount. They wanted to take care of it for me and offered to ship it for free back to them for repa...

Creation Software - Humble Bundle! Vegas Pro Edit + More

https://www.humblebundle.com/software/vegas-pro-creative-freedom So I saw this on Humble Bundle today. I'm considering picking it up. Anyone wanting to do video editing for something like a Youtube channel would probably really appreciate this offer. Vegas Pro can be very pricey and you can have it ...

Re: Fire HD 8 for 5 year old?

Hey Comp! Long time no see. Glad to see someone else homeschooling, we have been un-officially "homeschooling" him but he will be going into it this coming year. He turns 5 in May and my daughter will be 3 in September, so similar in age to your kids. This past year or so we haven't been t...

Re: Fire HD 8 for 5 year old?

Yeah the 8 is $49.99 right now, and I put one on order. I agree that I don't want my kid to become screen addicted. Luckily, the Fire Tablets apparently let you have some of the best parental controls, to include (from my understanding) the ability for your kids to earn free time for things like Net...

Fire HD 8 for 5 year old?

Curious if any gerbils here forwent the kids edition and bought something like the Fire HD 8 for a kid around 5 years old? My son is very in tune with tech (big surprise) and is very careful when grabbing my or his moms phone. I'm thinking that maybe this would be the year for him to get a device of...

Either this is a test by computer learning hardware or a non-english speaking poster. I'll bite. By apply, do you mean updated or upgraded, what exactly do you mean? Docx should work in office 2007 since that was the first version year it came out. What version did you have before when it was workin...

Re: Forums on Mobile Small Issue

Yeeeeep, that changes the entire interface so it doesn't have the same issue. I like a lot of the elements of this theme, to include the darker nature which is nice for night time reading. There is a lot more going on though, icons are smaller and in general things don't seem like a mobile site.

Forums on Mobile Small Issue

Out of curiosity does anyone else have this clipping issue where when you go to look at "Your Posts" via the hamburger (three horizontal lines) menu where the search bar overlaps it? This occurs on any phone I've tried it on, Samsung Note 5, OnePlus 3t, ect. All have been 1920x1080, so I d...

That is exactly how I felt when HDMI first came out. I recall CompUSA selling 5FT cables for well over $150! God forbid you wanted a 10+ FT cable. OK, so I just hooked up the AmazonBasics DP cable and........... Tears....... Absolute tears of joy. I see why the reviewer from WFCCTech stated he would...

Yeah I bought the Amazon Basics DP 1.2 cable about a week ago :P. It's still not here, supposed to arrive later today. Monster Cable makes some that were bathed in the blood of goats or something. Argh. Please use the full resolution. 1080p mean nothing anymore.

Most people don't refer to Ultrawide 2560x1080 as 1080p, so I don't see there being much of a confusion here.

Re: Nixeus EDG 27 thoughts

I agree Syn, other than the expectation that the quality would be similar on an Asus or that the quality on an Acer in the same price range would be lower. Without a doubt, the 3 year warranty is a big deal. It's a sad state of affairs when you buy a $600 monitor and it only has a 1 year warranty. 2...

Re: Nixeus EDG 27 thoughts

Synth, you have any issues with the bezel at the bottom of the screen not being flush with the panel? Mine seems to have a gap way outside what I'd expect. If anything can be complained about with this monitor, it would be the basic fit and finish. It's most certainly not a top tier product in that ...

Re: 144hz, Display Port Cable Requirements

Good to know, so it's not hype. I haven't seen or used a lot of DP displays in business machines until the end of this year. I'm thinking 2018 is going to usher in the era of DP even in more mainstream/work systems. You'd think so, but HDMI is on almost, if not, every single TV out there. Projector...

144hz, Display Port Cable Requirements

So I got my Nixeus EDG 27 and forgot to even think about refresh rates supported by HDMI. Now my 7850 doesn't have HDMI 2.0 (just 1.4) and my card of course is dumb and has 2 mini display ports. So I need another cable, mini to full sized display port. However, I noticed the same old story as when H...

Congrats on the purchase, I too have one arriving tomorrow. The big seller for me on adaptive sync and it's worth was a reviewer (WFCCTech surprisingly) who got another Nixeus higher refresh monitor. He noted that it was such a huge difference in even day to day tasks or OS functions that if given t...

In order to make anything useful of the steam data, we would have to know the collection method, and what constitutes another computer? Does a single user with multiple computers count? If so you may see the Chinese language and other skewed numbers for things like the OS based on a large influx of ...

There are actually several G-Sync IPS 144+Hz 1440P vendors: 27" 1440P is absolutely the sweet spot for gaming. Well, that's why I'm checking :) Seems like G-Sync is only real con, if at all. But my last card was an ATI variant, and I suspect Nvidia will remain relevant for quite a few years ye...

Any recommendations for a first time AR-15 buyer? Been eyeing up the S&W Sport II and the Ruger in the budget range, trying to stay sub $700 unless a bit more nets you a much better long term rifle? Just want reliability, not a piece of junk.

Honestly, if they can just properly execute round two, they're gonna get sustainable marketshare. That is if round two fixes the initial issues, like high-speed RAM compatibility, clockspeeds, efficiency at higher clockspeeds, and internal latency. That last one is killer for the server market and ...

I pulled the trigger as well, it ships this morning and I'd assume take 2 days to arrive. Once I get it in I may do a video/pictures with a few of my thoughts. Replacing a Dell ST2420L that I was gifted for Christmas of 2009 IIRC. Unfortunately I'm going to be driving it with my 2GB MSI 7850 Twin Fr...
