Re: Ethernet Cables

It's all digital these days. The signals in the cables go through or they don't. Get the cheapest cable that will do the job. All the gold plating, silver cores, and whatever else they have is not going to magically improve your signal. This isn't really true for Ethernet cables. If you're just goi...

Go saints!

I have never seen so many people cry over a team victory. This state is so happy right now.

Colts, you guys put up a great fight and Peyton Manning is a great quarterback. I would have been rooting for your team if you weren't playing the Saints.

why all this work for an access database? if you plan on making this into a product, you DEFINITELY want to use SQL Server Express. It's free and embeddable. Also, the syntax is almost identical to Access.

Re: Anyone else running dual displays?

I decided that it might be a good idea to use my spare 17" LCD along with my 24" LCD to get a bit more screen real estate. I've been pleasantly surprised by all of the advantages that dual screens offer, but there are still some small bugs especially with games. Does anyone else use two o...

Re: Blackberry Curve...not happy

Download and update the latest firmware, and then unlock all of the themes. I'm on AT&T, but i really like the T-mobile theme. You can arrange your first 5 icons for easy access. That'll fix your issue with the address book. You can hide the icons you're not gonna use. When it comes to the Inte...

1) make sure you are using the latest operating system. you can find links stickied here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8300-series-discussion-curve/ 2) If you are pissed about the number of icons, do like everybody else and hide them or group them into folders. NOD32 v4 - anybody tried it?

I've been using ESET NOD32 v3 for a long time and I noticed that they just released v4. After I found my username and password buried in some email from months ago, I downloaded the latest version of v3 (anyone else notice that it doesn't auto-update the program files?) and I was able to download v4...

it could also be indexing data, which is stored at c:\programdata\microsoft

by default, the indexing occurs when the computer is idle, so it is likely occurring at night.

Deploying Mediawiki at work... any suggestions?

Intranet only, for roughly 25 users. It will be deployed on Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 with IIS6. We already have some other internal websites based on ASP.NET/SQL Server 2005, but mediawiki will be using MySQL as it's backend. I implemented an LDAP extension that allows users to login via their act...
