Well, have you tried with with the 300watt psu? I have a 6800GT OC from BFG running in my Aria with a 36Gb Raptor and a 250Gb SATA drive with no power issues. PCI duties also include an Audigy2 card. I don't think it requires removing the PSU in favor of a 350watt ATX PSU.

If you have Virtual Daemon or any other CD/Image software, try uninstalling this first. The CDROM.SYS file gets overwritten by a Filter driver for these applications, and if they get currupeted can cause the lockup issue you are seeing. The drive goes to read the TOC and hangs the system. Installing...

When you say they make sounds, exactly what type of noise? Does it whine on power up, or, does the drive make a ticking or clicking noise? A whine is the bearing ring, and a clicking indicates a hard disk platter crash either of which are fatal for a hard disk. The only thing I've found replaceable ...

Actually, depending on the controller and how the data was striped, its probably unrecoverable. Most use a MetaData table for storing this info. If you turn off the RAID feature and then turn it back on, then the MetaData state changes hence "no boot" condition. If you re-apply (in this case, recrea...

as Klyith stated, use the diag's from Samsung's website, or, you could check to see if your system BIOS has SMART enabled which most do not. If SMART kicks in a failure when the BIOS scans then it's time for a drive replacement.

Re: External SCSI Raid and Hardware redundancy

He said that if I had a hardware failure I could plug my array into a spare computer that also had an external scsi connection and I would be back up and running in minutes. Um, kinda true, but it has to be the same SCSI controller or you will get the wonderful BSOD Inaccessable Boot Device as a bo...

Welcome to the forums! Sorry to hear you are running that high, but I have an A64 3400+ running with the Zalman 7000Cu. Idle is 49c and load temps are at 60c which is in line with a mid tower case. Bigger doesn't necessarly mean taller for CPU coolers. Yes, it required the added fan, but I've also b...

Heatsink fan is one aspect, and the other is that the Aria (just like mid tower cases) benifit from positive airflow. To keep this box cool, you will need to make a few necessary mod's to the box. Prescott would be ill advised in this setup as I've read elsewhere 530's hitting 70c under load. Imagin...

Hello and welcome. I've owned two Shuttle boxes and now an Aria setup. The Aria is much easier to work on and does run somewhat cooler, but it is bigger than the "shoebox" footprint that the Shuttle uses. To some the larger size is a bit of a turn off to the SFF crowd, but I love mine. Here's what I...

RMA it. There has been discussions on other boards about the "wobble" of the MX1000. It's a manufacturer's defect with regards to the pads on the bottom of the mouse. Logitech will swap it out for you with no hassle. From what I've read, it only affects a very small percentage of people, so not ever...

Nvidia stated they were not supporting socket 940 on the NF4 platform (CPU Mag interview). The jury is still out on S754, but since there a very large market for the 754 I'd be surprised if Nvidia didn't cater to this as a "low end" solution since AMD is still producing 754 CPU's including Sempron. -E

There was a review in the latest Xbox Magazine that said they were very nice, but for $500 they'd better be. As far as the Z-5300's, they are a solid set of speakers and a good value for the money. The sound output from the 5.1's is clean with no noticeable buzz. I like the stand alone Volume contro...

The shuttle's heatpipes are doing the same job as the water does, and probably with just about the same effeceincy. The SN95 should handle all of this hardware without issue. The only concern is the amount of heat the higher end video cards produce and the weak fan Shuttle uses to exhaust the heat from within the case. The first thing most Shuttle folks do is remove the rear fan guard and place a better cooling f...

I'll second the vote for an OEM vs. Retail as you won't use the Retail heatsink in a Shuttle. The ICE Heatpipe works quite well for it's small confinds. Not to mention that when you look at the socket, you will notice Shuttle uses it's own mounting mechanism for attaching the heatpipe to the socket....

Yoke adjustment maybe, but many times this is due to unclean power coming from your 110v line. Drop a good quality line conditioner between the wall outlet and your equipment. Could also be a grounding issue with the wiring in your house. How old is the wiring in the house? Does it use a 3 pin prong...
