I have an Asrock H81 HDS. Sub $50.. It's a good board and everything I need. It even runs i7 4790k. Has been solid board. Has USB 3.0.. Even overclocks K chips. The only down side is 2 dimms.

I've had to use USB2 for all of my Windows installs; at least it's faster than using the DVD. Pretty sure only 7x series and above Intel chipsets contain native USB3, and I'm not sure there's a Windows installer that includes USB3 drivers yet. You would be alright with the phenom x4 I think. Sure the i5 will give you better frame rates but not much.

On a budget FX4100 are great I think. Quad @ 3.6ghz for $99. :D FX6100 or FX8100 not so much since i5 are in that price bracket.

Seriously screw waiting. It's a good time to buy now. Cheap core 2 duo memory prices been like this for few months. Memory prices are going to go up sooner or later. Penryn is a little faster but there will always be something faster.

For $1600 you can get a nice little system with a GTX.

I would go with a 22". Even it has worse viewing angles. If it's going to be personal use it shouldn't matter.

What I would really like is a 32" monitor/TV with 1920x1080 resolution. Nothing is too big for a monitor.

If it was just for TV purposes I would just get 1080i/720p set and save the money especially on a 32" TV. Now if you were going to use it as a monitor/TV than it would be better if you got 1080p set. The reasons are obvious.

I have scythe mine with 120mm variable fan. Not as powerful as the big brother like the Infinity or the Ninja but with bigger faster spinning fans, it competes with more expensive coolers.
