Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

One more reason to be leery of this internet of things trend I guess.

I don't want my fish tank, or my fridge, or my stove, to be smart.

Re: STAR WARS TIME! - Spoiler Lock Lifted

I'm basing my statement about the Jedi needing to die on the portrayal of the council in the prequels than anything else; ineffectual, hypocritical, bloated. Yeah, it needed to go.

I think the prequels are still canon, but I could be wrong. But the Jedi Council from that was pretty crappy.

Re: STAR WARS TIME! - Spoiler Lock Lifted

Hell I agree with Luke that the Jedi, as they were, need to end. Given his character in the original trilogy, I actually think his retreating to hermithood made sense. The one really bleh part for me was the casino planet. I kind of get what they were going for; funky plans of desperation don't alwa...

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

I can't remember Applebee's not being kind of janky. Realtor coming over at 3pm this afternoon to go over the house. Yay. Dallas here we come. Biggest city I've ever lived in so I'm more than a little nervous. But more opportunities and 90% of my family's in the Dallas-Houston stretch of Texas these...

Trying to switch careers with two kids and a mortgage = misery :/ It might help if I know what I actually want to do, but far as I know you don't get paid to sit on a beach and catch fish and drink whiskey.

We're having grass fires out the ass here (there's a 15,000 acre one going a little north of us right now) and it's only early March. It's going to be a bad year

Oh, I like the round, I'm just not sure I want to trust a 90 year old gun my grandfather and his father used and abused for decades until it gets looked over  I loved Grandpa but he was hard on his tools.

http://i.imgur.com/djhnxIA.jpg Took possession of this the day of Grandad's funeral; He got it from either his dad or his grandad--I've heard both ways. Funerals: Family reunions minus one. Got to see a lot of the family we have left at Grandad's funeral yesterday. Honestly a lot of the older ones are looking pretty rough. Told a lot of good stories about him; his older brother told a story about him getting in trouble for using their dad's 30-30 to...

JBI: A friend of mine in the mental health field (degrees out the ass, 10 years experience in clinical work with patients) just switched jobs to get back to actually doing what he liked instead of managing so I don't think that's unique to tech, unfortunately :/ Letting the magic smoke out sounds li...

My project 870 is physically completed; but does anyone have experience using chemical bluing treatments? I'm probably going to clean up the wood but otherwise leave it alone, but the finish is flat gone from the magazine and the receiver.

Re: Gun prOn!

The few people at local stores I talk to said sales are down...but as far as Remington, they've been mismanaged since the buyout. Crappy QC, nearly no innovation, and high prices in an increasingly competitive marketplace are not good for success. My grandfather passed after about a month in hospice...

I'd try that. But I mix stuff up; right now I'm eating chili that we made out of leftover green chili pulled pork. It's different but good. And hot. I want everyone to be healthy; can I complain about that? Since Christmas we've passed around ear infections, strep, and bronchitis. And a stomach bug ...

If I was a Browns fan I'd be livid. I'm usually all for giving HC's 3 years or so before canning them, but one damn game in 2 years? Oh man I'd be done--not for the bad record but for keeping that coach
