Re: RTX 2080 / Ti similar to iPhone X launch?

Lots of people spend money on toys. Be it a $1000 lens, $800 Kimber, $2500 lift kit, $1000 kayak, $1000 bike...shall I go on? I don't like this argument. Am I spending 1k on a bike, but it is unable to meet road conditions in 18 months, forcing me to buy another? Put another way, the bike or kayak ...

Also, congrats on the new position. That's pretty cool that you are able to spend more time with your kids, taking them into school each day. Hope the new job is fulfilling.

But in exchange, you don't have to drive 3+ hours just to find big city entertainment. Big Rapids is an hour outside of Grand Rapids (pretty small city), and almost four hours away from Chicago. The roads aren't always choked with traffic, no matter where you live. And when you're not commuting, I'...

Re: Amazon Locker weirdness

They seem to have switched to numerical-only locker codes for some reason (was previously a mix of numbers and letters). I wonder why they did that; it drastically reduces the number of possible combinations (1 million possible combinations now vs. ~2 billion before, as it's a 6-character code). Wh...

Really sweet of them to not be able to refund me the taxes too, even though I can provide them information that the taxes don't apply. The whole getting taxed online thing is getting stupid, because these e-tailers don't even know the laws by which they are required or whom they are suppose to tax....

At some point, its worth having a talk with kids about the existence of "bad" content and empower them - "if it makes you feel bad or strange, ask dad/mum to check it". My view here is that while we can supervise them in many places, there is going to be the case where they are ...

I would really like to attend before this traditional event disappears, but I am unable to fully commit at this time, as it's roughly 2500 miles to travel. That being said, not sure how much pull I really have, but would prefer the June weekends, if at all possible.
