Odd Boot Problems

So I finally got my computer working after a very long time and now I have another problem (but at least it starts now :) ). I'm really not sure if it's a software or hardware problem but this seemed like the appropriate forum to post it in. Mods, feel free to move this if it is in the wrong forum. ...

Heh, just realized what you said. The first time I installed the video card I forgot to diasble the onboard video. Or do you mean since the problem occurred the second time?

I put in a video card and it worked fine but then I tried to install the latest drivers and I got the same problem. And yes, I did disable the onboard video.

I got the same problem with the other two monitors I tried.

Do not force the CPU into the socket.
Be very gentle with it.
Make sure you line the CPU up right before putting it in the socket.
Some mobos come with a little tool thing for handling CPUs, if yours does, use it.

Eh, I can't think of anything else. I forgot it all now :(.

Creative® 5GB Zen Micro MP3 Player

I am getting a new MP3 player soon, and this one sounded good to me. I am just trying to find out what other people think about it. And if anyone has had any past experiences(good or bad). Someone said there were problems with the headphone jack being very sensitive. And then someone said it was jus...

OCZ PSU

I'm buying a new PSU, and I figured I'd give OCZ a try because I've heard good things about their products. And, I came across this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104154 Now, I know this should support my system, but just incase I'll post my specs: P4 3.25 GHz 512 MB RA...

I would reccomend upgrading the PSU first. Because then you are also able to make other upgrades without being held back by your wattage. But, if you have the cash to upgrade both then go for it.

Well, I'd say go for the cheaper one, considering it's only a 30 MHz clock difference. So, you could even make up the extra 30 MHz and save yourself some money.
XFX and BFG are great names. So, with either one you'd be fine.

just brew it! - I couldn't find any jumpers on the board for the CMOS, but I did remove battery and I waited a minute or two and the same problem occured.

Lickety - It boots, it's just the monitor does not stay on. I was kind of thinking it could also be the PSU, also.

It's the original board, but I was thinking of getting a new board. That would solve it, right?

I'll check the manual.

**EDIT**
The manual does not show how to reset the CMOS.

Resetting CMOS

I was told that I could fix my problem, described in this thread: viewtopic.php?t=33097, by resetting CMOS. I have an idea of how to do this, but could someone explain this in more detail? Thank you.

You say the PSU is 350w, if its a generic no-brand 350w then it could still be your problem. Your monitor goes off almost instantly, right? So you don't have enough time to get into the bios. I was going to say take it down from AGP 8x to 4x but you can't do that. Try resetting the CMOS and see if ...

USA - I reseated everything but that didn't work. But...that didn't work. I know it's not a heat issue, though. Perfect - My PSU is fine. I believe it's a 350 W? But, accoring to PSU Calculator I need like a 300 or 200 and people tell me that that's way too high. And I know the PSU and the monitor a...

Meh, it doesn't look like the most amazing game ever. But, it looks like a good movie to see if you don't have anything to do on a weekend. Or, if you're a fan of the Doom series. Most likely I'll fall into both categories and end up seeing it. I mean, come on, it's Doom. You gotta see it.

6800 Problems

Okay, I just got a new eVGA 6800 for AGP. The main reason I bought this card was because my DVI port got messed up on my mobo. So, what would happen was my computer would boot up fine, but the monitor would power on for a second, after I pressed the button, and then just shut off. So, I figured a ne...
