Re: Problem with new build

Well apparently the "boot media" is the equivalent to "operating system". All I did was insert the OS in my cd drive and everything is peachy keen. I called my brother(he works in IT) and explained to me that "boot media" is really the OS and that's what it was asking f...

Problem with new build

I recently finished my build and when I powered it up I get this on my screen... "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" This is my first build and I'm not exactly sure what is meant by the boot media, I thought the screen would s...

GPU too big for mobo ?

I just bought a Saffire 9750 OC card and wanted to be sure about the mobo I buy. I'm thinking about a Asrock Z77 Pro4-M 1155 mATX board and wanted to be sure the card will fit in it. I'm going to buy the 3570k proc with the mobo. I've read that some cards have problems fitting on a mobo in the past ...

Pairing a GPU to a CPU...is there a minimum Ghz ?

I'm building a new comp and I'm thinking about buying a Radeon HD 7950 for gaming and was wondering if a CPU should be matched to it by some degree, I was thinking of the Intel 3570k proc on a Z77 board to play games like BF3 on a 24" 1900x1200 monitor. I guess the question is, is there a way t...

Re: New build... suggestions

OK, I think I have what I'm looking for. I made a few changes like the vid card/mobo and case and found what I think will be good for the PSU. I just wanted to run this by and see if it looks good to the pros.... Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.... $100 Mobo...Asrock Z77 Pro4-M 1155 mATX...$60 Proc.......

If I decide to buy the ASrock board will I be able to OC it? It's not something I would do now but maybe in a few years when the warranty expires.

Re: New build... suggestions

$190 Intel Core i5-3570K + $60 ASRock Z77 Pro4-M $250+tax seems like a bargain for motherboard + CPU. I paid a net of $377½ for mine. That seems like a great deal to me, I'm just wondering what it lacks vs. the Asus boards ? In the future I might get brave and overclock(if my mobo will allow) when ...

Re: New build... suggestions

I was looking at the K proc because of the price $180 @ 3.4 Ghz. What would be a better proc ? The Z68 board is what TR's sweet spot recommended in their write up. I wasn't aware of the Z77 board but I will read more about it. Should I wait for the rest of Nvidia's 600 series to come out before I de...

Hello, it's been about 11 years since I bought my comp from Alienware(bad experience) to play Half-Life on and now I have the budget to buy a new rig. This time around I want to try BF3 on my 24" 1900x1200 monitor( I actually have 2 of them). My budget is around $1000. Here's a list of what I t...

No, you cant quit, you have to carry this on for those of us that haven't been able to fight back in this type of a situation. You must carry on with this endeavor and jam those evil-doers of their prized ear-candy, they must be made to suffer the sound of silence.

Re: Need Suggestions On Jamming/Degrading Single FM Station

I think you might get more info at a HAM operators forum, then again they might be even more protective of their info if they think it will be used for unlawful purposes. I understand your situation with the coworkers, simply trying to voice your dislike no matter how tasteful can make you the black...

I'm in the mood for a new comp and I'm thinking of building one similar to TR's utility rig... http://techreport.com/articles.x/21876 The only real difference is that I have (2) 24" monitors(1900x1200) and I dont know what graphics card can handle those monitors and be able to play a game like ...

What is your homepage?

msn.com is my homepage and i'm getting sick of how long it takes to load along with anything that has Bing linked to an article.

So I'm looking for a new homepage and wondering what others use.

thanks

Re: Radio Control Hobbies

I have the JR 9303 2.4 and I like it but once the manufacturers come out with a TX with telemetry(so I know the voltages on all my batteries), the option to assign channels to any switch and a port so I can play with the settings on my comp, then I'll buy a new TX. I would think with the way the new...
