What version of windows are you using? I'm on 8.1 and it acts like the folder links to elsewhere on the OS drive.

It wasn't hacked. You allowed them to install it by allowing Firefox to install and run Studies. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1194583 And from the Shield Studies wiki that the support response linked, it's supposed to prompt users to try out new products, not install them silently. &...

Re: Firefox Hacked with Rogue Plugin... by its own developers

Firefox gained its popularity by avoiding exactly these kind of stunts. Even if IE wasn't so poorly behaved it was still backed by the megacorp while Mozilla was very much the underdog. That alone would have caused some people to take notice, but the software they provided was actually good as well...

Re: I7 8700 reaching 100C

That's like oversimplifying it and saying the only difference between an i5 and an i7 is Hyper-Threading. While that is true, there are other things to take into account. The 8700K has a 500MHz higher base clock, and a 100MHz higher turbo clock, and is therefore rated for a 95W TDP instead of 65W T...

Re: What happened to my overclock?

Could be guessing forever. I'd just run 24 hours of blend Prime95 and see if all the threads were error free . I've had enough systems that where that 0.01% instability was such an issue that just running it overnight isn't enough in my opinion. If it can pass that then the root cause is someplace ...

Re: I7 8700 reaching 100C

But you are running to high of voltage for Air and expecting good temps. The cooler is rated for 150watts and under load you are probably well over that. You need something like a kill-A-watt metter to see what the system is using under full load. You could replace the stock fan with something that...

Servers won't, but he's talking about desktop boards unless I'm mistaken. Certain 2 Processors have an overclocking feature. The asus z10pe-d8 ws and z10pe-d16 ws being amoung those boards. The truth might hurt but it is what it is. Tigerdirect and NCIX are both equals. They charged high prices and there's better alternates to both. I wish someone would replace bestbuy because there prices are over the top. NCIX charges high prices? Not too sure what you are talking about. In Canada, ...

TigerDirect was absolute ***t. Don’t even mention it in the same post as NCIX (RIP). NICX expanded into a market that was already covered by a well established high quality competititor ( Canada Computers ). The truth might hurt but it is what it is. Another 'custom looper' here mate. Kougar is spot on the money with regards to water vaporisation and galvanic corrosion. You can use UltraVNC http://www.uvnc.com/
RDP works well when the host machine is a windows box. RDP has worked fine under windows 8.1. There are RDP clients for Linux that run well too.

Like you said you wanted somthing else that's not RDP, check out UltraVNC.

So you will have a full year to save money for a good system. DDR4 desktop ram will drop in price by then. Just hold off on buying ram till you are ready to buy a motherboard and cpu that will use that ram.
