Re: Adding Record On Query Generates "Cannot Add Record"

No the autofill I'm talking about is not an autoincrement. It automatically fill in the specific LocationID for a new record. For example, if I select LocationID = "1" on the combo-box, it will show all records with LocationID = "1". I want to add a new record and I go to a new r...

Re: Adding Record On Query Generates "Cannot Add Record"

Can you post the Insert query that is giving the error? I see you are using a common value which is Order. I really don't think you can use a Join in an Insert statement by the way. I didn't use any specific Insert Query, the Sub-Form (Table_Child) is in a spreadsheet-view and I simply select a new...

Adding Record On Query Generates "Cannot Add Record"

Need a little help here on Access: I have 2 tables: Table_Parent with fields: Order (Primary Key) AccountID Table_Child with fields: AutoNumber ID (Primary Key) Order Cost LocationID I made a main form that had a combo-box filter (LocationID) to display the proper information in a sub-form. The sub-...

Re: Quick Access Help

Did you actually base the form on a query? If you're manually setting the record source you need to force it to refresh IIRC. There is not separate SQL query in my database. All the query is done right in the RecordSource property. How do you a "force refresh?" And why does it work on my ...

Re: Quick Access Help

Now this is wierd, I am able to successfully pull up these records in one form (fields automatically appearing on all my textboxes). However, if I create another form from scratch with the same exact settings, the textboxes don't show anything when I pull up a record. I know it pulled it up a record...

Re: Quick Access Help

Your first query looked definitely wrong because you didn't have a where clause. Don't know why your 2nd query did not work but the comment thing may be an issue. Not sure about the data binding stuff in Access so I can't say if the ControlSource thing is correct or not. I would suggest looking int...

Quick Access Help

Hope somebody who knows Access and VB can help me: I've been doing this for hours and can't figure out what is going on. I'm trying to do a simple record lookup with a combo-box. The combo-box selects the "Plant_ID" to lookup. I created a form (with textboxes displaying information off of ...

Eh - I've tried Gold for the first year, but then stopped. Frankly, I don't really think its worth it to pay that extra money for multiplayer - I recon Microsoft will make it free sometime in the future to stay competitive with whatever Sony and Nintendo will throw at it...

Re: New Core i7 / X58 build -- Please Critique!

This build looks fantastic, the price though (especially in this recession) is too high in my opinion. The thing with technology is a build a like this will literally get halved in price in the next 6 months. I would try to stick the build under 1.5k, which is entirely possible even with the latest ...

The Gut-Wrenching Feeling Of Outdated Apple Products

One of the things that is really preventing me in getting an Apple product aside from an iPod/iPhone is that I hate to have the gut-wrenching feeling of having obsolete or outdated modeled laptops whenever Steve Jobs pulls somethings at at conference. This is especially true if you sink in 2 grand o...

One +12V rail will be dedicated to the ATX 24-pin snake. The other rail powers all of the remaining +12V sources. The rail split has already been done for you. Thanks for the info Captain :). Does that also mean my old Ultra PSU was using was only utilizing one 12V source even though I can it conne...

Working with a Dual-12V Rail PSU...

From what I've been reading, the newer PSU's with dual-rails should be set so that one goes to the mobos/cpu only while the other goes to the video cards, etc... The question is, how does this typically get split when you are physically connecting them to the back of these PSU's. I just bought a Ant...

Once again, what does that have to do with the government? The vast majority of us are not on government networks. Also, there is never total control/security. Re: Do You Think Ray-Tracing Is The Future?

Also from what I understand Raytracing requires a complete overhaul of all current GPU architectures because they are all based on Rasterizing (all current gens down to the old Radeon 7000 and TNT2 cards.) This is true, although I believe there are some efforts to run ray-tracing on GPGPU systems. ...

Re: Do You Think Ray-Tracing Is The Future?

While I think that ray-tracing will bring good stuff to the table it isn't the be all and end all of graphics. There are still a few things ray tracing is inefficient at doing that could be done with the same quality using rasterization. So I thing that a hybrid approach is the most likely solution...
