Re: Headphone market for 2018: Hot mess

Bluetooth audio doesn't use anywhere near all of that though, and you're still transcoding from one lossy format to another for transmission. But like I said above, Bluetooth audio quality is generally "good enough". Biggest issue I have with it is that the Bluetooth audio on my LG G4 gli...

Re: Headphone market for 2018: Hot mess

I agree completely. I have a HD 650 I got on a sale and I am happy to admit that I'm Fulla (2) Schitt as well. Where do you use them? Can you move your setup around? I keep them both with my work laptop, use it for my sound card everywhere I go. Although sometimes I don't wear the HD 650 at work be...

Re: Headphone market for 2018: Hot mess

Sennheiser H6XX is $199 semi-regularly on Massdrop. Plenty of used HD600 and HD650 units out there too or good deals as the new but not really improved but slightly different models have come out. That is absolutely audiophile grade. Buy $100 to $400 worth of DAC and amp from say a company like Sch...

Why do you want your car to make more noise? That doesn't make it go any faster. Is it just to annoy others or draw attention? I think they're talking about the kind of noise not the loudness of noise. Although it's highly entertaining every time my coworker's heavily modified Firebird sets off eve...

I feel like there's something wrong with me saying this, but... for a high-performance car, wouldn't a supercharger be a better idea?

Sure a Turbo isn't always-on, but fuel economy for a Corvette just seems like a lost cause compared to dealing with turbo lag.

If you replaced the board, and Windows isn't crashing or otherwise unstable, it's almost certainly a PSU issue. The only other things I can think of are: 1) Faulty power button (but it does try to start when you hit the button, correct?). 2) Minor Short which your PSU is brute-forcing past (You can ...

Once upon a time I had faith that all developers at least gave their application a cursory run through helgrind prior to deploying anything. Working in the industry for 30+ years will convince you beyond a shadow of a doubt that at least 50% of software developers don't have a f*cking clue what the...

What board and PSU are you sitting on? A lot of B350 boards have mediocre phases. I just bought a Strix B350-F as it has better chokes than most B350s and it's a 4+4 configuration. Granted I'm not looking to OC right off the bat, but it should be easy later down the road with this board. ASRock AB3...

You might be able to set up a Skylake system with DDR3, it wouldn't be too out of date even now.

It does seem that, if the USB port is in a location where I can't see it clearly (e.g. back of a computer case), I may spend a minute flipping the male connector over and over several times trying to get it to insert correctly (no jokes, please). Of course, that could be attributable to my own pers...

SED is both cheaper and more effective. Does anyone know why that tech got buried?

Don't misunderstand, micro-LED-array is pretty much equivalent technology, but seems like it would have massive heat (and to a lesser extent, brightness) deficits compared to other self-lit solutions.
