Re: Something's different...

Just doing a drive by. I see two new BOTS have been brought online, one named Michael Brenner and the other Staff Reporter. I guess the Renee Johnson BOT could not keep up with the listicles. Just realized I almost posted on my 20 year anniversary. Now I am sad to see what my favorite tech site has...

Re: What are you playing right now?

Thanks for letting us know it's a launcher issue, Tanker.

Good to hear that the Epic store is still a trash fire. I'll wait for Steam, although I imagine that if/when I get RDR2 I'll do this whether it helps or not so to bypass the Rock* launcher.

I would LOVE to be playing Red Dead Redemption II on PC but no can do. TWO whole days and trying every trick posted on Rockstars' support and forum pages and even going to Reddit, I cannot get the damn thing to run. Yes, in an early interview Mark was pissed with the direction and stated "that is not my Luke Skywalker." He has sinced backed-off that probably because Darth Mickey and the Disney First Order have forced-choked him to play nice. Mark was pretty clear about this in interviews. He was paid...

Warning: Really Long Post Ahead. I'm not sure if it's actually a Rant because it's factual and not full of expletives, but may as well put in a Rant tag too. But it's post-related because I was playing Destiny 2 for the first time last night. [TL-DR: Destiny 2 is so different from most games that I ...

An FX-8350 is still my "daily driver" at home. Ditto. Heck, at the moment I've got three of them (home linux server and two linux boxes). In my case, the home server is a Phenom II 1090T. :D To be fair, the 1090T probably outperforms most Bulldozer-derived CPUs. So, a little backgro...

My wife's current PC is the same i7-950 (Bloomfield?) / ATI 5870 combo that we both made in... could have been early 2010, I don't remember. Definitely counts as 10 years old, and definitely supports DX 11. We had paired systems, mine eventually died from electromigration but she never OC'd hers and...

As a frequent PC-builder and upgrade adviser for many people, what seems to be working for most is building a HEDT system from scratch every 6 years. I still perform little upgrades of individual components on a 2-year schedule, but that's only because I'm a hardware enthusiast and want to use a var...

Maybe their "vision" needs some corrective lenses... I don't know, JBI. That's possible, but it's usually a pretty safe bet to assume the existence of bigger fools. From what I could see Softbank is a pretty standard pump-and-dump operation, there's nothing strange or different going on t...

Well I'm playing WoW - have been a fan for nearly 5 years and I like the fact you don't need a high spec PC to run the game. My family finally got out of WOW completely, and now my wife just bought a sub for Classic mode. It's... I have to admit I'm tempted. And I'm saying this with City of Heroes ...

Hopefully someday soon Activision will force them to make the World of Starcraft MMO that everyone wants to play. This doesn't stand a Ghost of a chance. Sadly, I couldn't agree more. I played during WotLK, Cata, and Panderia. I quit the spring after WoDraynor came out. I liked Cata the best but I did like Panderia also. What was the problem? I've successfully used EaseUs' a handful of times in the past. A bit clunky, but seemingly most of them are to some degree (in the past, Paragon's, GParted, maybe even PartitionMagic). I don't have the UI in front of me, but IIRC it spits out errors on System Clone, asks to ma...

That's correct, that is to say, they don't work. Not even the paid version of EaseUs does.

Turn settings down and breathe easy. Honestly, the obsession with "MAX ULTRA KILLAH SETTINGS" is somewhat pointless and a great way to spend a lot of money. :) This. Keep in mind that most benchmark settings are targeting two things: 1) Stressing the video cards, or 2) Stressing the CPUs....
