Re: New 'easy' version of the V7 F@h client

Thanks for the update! i was tempted to update a few comps to that client after I see your post. most of mine are still running really old cli versions (or the early standalone GPU client, which apparently started to get units again earlier this year after 1 yr or more of can't d/l any work.

Re: The Hunt Is ON!

thanks for the heads up fuzzhead. i won't be near my i7 for another 3 wks so i guess my ppd will go down for a while(not that it was getting the bonus consistently to begin with) For us that fold -bigadv you need to read this. http://folding.typepad.com/ I popped two bigadv today with no credit. And...

Re: Team TR I need your help!

Looks like there is no log for the PS3 or the laptop's ethernet port mac addresses in my router, and if anything the data would been on the laptop as I was semi-in charge of my professor's lab's router access list back in the days so I had some doc file w/ my own mac address on it. And apparently th...

Re: Team TR I need your help!

Hi guys, Thanks for the replies. I knew it was a slim chance, but I dropped by the PD and talked to the detective in charge and gave him the info anyways. Doesn't look like there has been any progress on the case. Unfortunately my laptop is too old and I haven't folded on it since SMP units became t...

Team TR I need your help!

Hi fellow TR reader/team TR folders, I usually only post in folding forum (and I haven't most much lately, mainly just reading), but I need some help regarding mac addresses. My house was broken in a few weeks before xmas and whoever did it got away w/ most of my portable devices(laptop, mp3, pda et...

Re: I'm back!

Thanks for the input guys. I should have clarified what I am running. Right now I am running the Win7RC as I don't think there are any drivers for my old win2k. Just running the windows SMP clients right now, not even sure if the old VMWARE I was running in w2k would work on win7 or not. It seems ha...

Re: I'm back!

Thanks puma, its good to be contributing again. Seems EM has died and never came back, and i haven't ran multiple clients at once in a long while to bother monitoring ppd. What's the program to use nowadays? Fahmon? Not sure if the smps are affecting my gpu, but seems running 2 smps is actually much...

I am trying to fight off a takeover now that I am able to produce more than 1 smp unit a day, but i will throw over a smp to frakenbot today and switch over the gpu the week of halloween to make it extra scary!

I'm back!

The folding scene sure has changed a lot! I've been sitting on old X2/wk2 or linux setup for a long time, but sadly the smp client gets worse w/ each update. While I do check TR almost everyday, there just wasn't much to post about as my setup are pretty much the same from years back. Last few month...

Re: shutting down

Sad to see another old time folder toning down. The more recent SMP clients are more problematic than the older one(around when dr. fish decided he has had enough) for me that my points went from 10K+ consistently to barely 2k in the last month or so...

Re: Excessively tight deadlines

What type of dualcores are you running? AMD X2 3800s are the slowest dualcores I have and I haven't notice much missing deadlines. I have one running win2k SMP and the other 2 are xubuntu 6.04. On my dual core cpus running the 30xx SMP WUs I noticed them missing all of the Preferred Deadlines. As Tr...

Re: SMP Client

The new 5.92(?) upgrade is only needed if u have a previous install. If you download and install the full client fresh you shouldn't need to install the update. they seem to have added some credential thing to it so you need to create a new credential store when u run the install.bat. there was no d...

Dono what magic voodoo happened but now the client is running on the vista machines, so i got all 3 3800 x2s back up and running. let's hope stanford doesn't decide to pull another new beta out of nowhere and causes them to idle like what happened since last september. Will have to check once my cou...

Re: 350PPD Initiative

Will have to check once my cousin is back. I've been turning machines back on (they were on the old beta smp that died back in Sept) but it seems I am getting some weird error in vista. well, now we just need wait for the Q9x50s so we can boost up the production even more. What error are you getting...

2 SMP in win xp with 4gb of ram

hi guys, my friend has recently upgraded to a Q6600 with 4gb of ram. however, in winxp32 with 4gb he runs into file i/o error when trying to fold, and it would only work if 1 stick of 2gb of ram in it. has anyone else ran into that problem. another question is he want to run 2 SMP client but when tr...

The v6 SMP client for Windows is not ready yet. The FAQ is correct in that statement. The download page has a Windows v6 beta CPU console client download, and an updated Windows v5.91 beta SMP console client download. Both will expire on 2008 02 02. hmm. so how long will the current v5.9 linux/wind...
