Re: Radeon VII Goes to an ELO Concert!

With the End of Life, it just was a short lived concert. A one hit wonder. Going out in silence as if put on the classic playlist for evermore.

Re: AMD Navi / RDNA Topic

With the rumor of the Nvidia Super RTX gpu's release, on July 2. and AMD's on July 7.
AMD may have to re-adjust the sale price of these cards, even before their official release.
This competition is great stuff!

Looking for a good priced rack server

I am looking for a good price on a rack server. I need an online retailer that will ship to Canada. I am willing to spend about $1k CAN. Some of the requirements are: Maximum U2 size for rack Minimum quad core cpu Minimum 16GB of ram. I have an extra 2x8GB of DDR3 2XR8 1600 Unbuffered ECC, would be ...

Re: Hitching problem on the desktop and games

Just another update: I added another intake fan and cranked up the speed. Seems pretty good now. Some quick benchmark results: Unigine Heaven- 2560x1440, Ultra shaders, medium tesselation, 2x AA Old Radeon R9-290X - Score: 1120, FPS: 44.5, Min:8.4, Max: 84.0 New Radeon RX590X - Score: 1340, FPS: 53....

Re: Hitching problem on the desktop and games

Unfortunately your board doesn't have a second x4 slot anywhere so you can't move the SSD without incurring a big performance penalty. What do you have for fans in your Define Mini? The Newegg listing shows a 120-mm fan in front as an intake and another in the back as exhaust. Are they both connect...

Re: Hitching problem on the desktop and games

Chrispy_ I followed all your advice, so its all cleaned out. However I discovered the problem, the new gpu board was actaully right ontop of the M.2 SSD. Or very close to it, underneath lets say. The M.2 was overheating and throttling according to CPUID HWMonitor. I put the R9-290X back in and used ...

Hitching problem on the desktop and games

New Driver/gpu has hitching on the desktop and in games. And I reinstalled the driver a couple times using these steps. I just replaced a Radeon R9-290X 4GB with an XFX "Fatboy" Radeon RX590 in another computer system. I uninstalled the old gpu driver (Radeon Software 18.11.1) and rebooted...

I have the Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero also. I noticed the big improvement after I updated to BIOS 6201. I have the Corsair LPX 2x8GB (Part#: CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 ) could only run at 2666Mhz and higher timings. After the update it runs at the rated speed just fine of 3000Mhz and CAS16-17-17-35. I dont ...

Re: AMD Graphics Card Issue After Latest Windows 10 Update

The funny part is, 16299 isn't even the current Windows 10 version. And 18.1.1 isn't the current AMD driver. Even if it is true, damaged hardware has next to nothing to do with updates or drivers. Your right :-? 16299 is also known as the Fall Creators Update or version 1709). However small a chanc...

Definately sounds like the fans stopped spinning after the update. What gpu was it? and model of card? Sounds like the version of windows 10 was not fully compatible with the graphics driver you had installed. I wonder if when any of us other folks do a feature update of windows 10, to install the v...

Re: Is overclocking safe

If you have money to burn put together some tweaking purpose system to experiment with cpu/gpu overclocking ideally, and compete in a few of the major benchmarks. Not a production system. Overclocking has some thrill and Adrenalin into it for sure. Sure it has potential hazard's but I generally feel...

My only complaints are the requirements to subscribe to the CBS All Access streaming server in order to view episodes. What cricket products are you eating?

So I tried some cricket pancakes :D. But I also had blue berries in there. It was interesting to say the least. The cricket products come from a farm in Ontario, Canada. The farm originally was called New Millennium Farms and has since renamed it to Entomo Farms. Their theory is about alternative so...

DancinJack you are correct I applied the new 3502 BIOS, and the InSpectre tool still says its not fixed.
I do get slightly better memory speeds now with an overclock.
But I guess we can just monitor the situation.

Re: GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition

I've been doing a bit of reading on this as I've just bought an Aorus 1080 Ti as well. I do have a stable system for the rest of the computer, and attached to a UPS.
The card should arrive by Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
