Speaking of Rookie QBs, I thought #6 Hodges did a great job stepping up when Mason Rudolph was KO'd in the Pittsburgh/Baltimore game.

Had been thinking I needed new glasses. Turned out the nose pieces were just a little bent, causing the current pair to ride a few mm too low on my face, taking my eyeballs out of the "sweet spot". Amazing how much of a difference that can make. Nosepads used to drive me nuts. I don't wan...

Re: AMD Zen 2: Ryzen 3000 series

Just got a 3600x, plopped it into my B350 board running a Beta BIOS. Thing is pretty much stuck at 4.25GHz, much faster than my 1600 which would most commonly run at 3.4, but the thing isn't downclocking at all. Guessing its the BIOS. Will wait for the next version after this big September 10th upda...

Well base speed is supposed to be what it can handle no matter what no matter how long and isn't idle speed. I guess to make 6 watts you can't be running over 700Mhz? I don't mind a slower base speed in a laptop and relying on turbo/boost to make up the performance difference for doing real work but...

Hoping to see a review of the 3600 and 3600X.
Would also like to see some straight up IPC tests (Zen1, Zen+, Zen2, KabyLake, CoffeeLake) same number of cores, same clock speed: how does each perform?

Also, my Ryzen chart looked a lot better than the one in the article.

I assume some of you already knew this, but for me it was a fascinating discovery: WWI fighter aircraft used an unusual (and obsolete) type of engine called a rotary engine . This is nothing like the Wankel rotary design which would later be popularized by Mazda; it used pistons like a normal ICE, ...

Re: 16 COARZ.... Not announced by AMD

I'd actually be more interested in an 8 core that was tuned for higher clocks. 8 cores at 5GHz is more interesting for gaming than 12 at 4.6 (16 at 4.7 is better, but $750 is more than I want to spend). Agreed. A 6 or 8 core with a boost of 4.7 to 5.0 would push me over the edge. (Lets say an R5 36...

I think maximizing revenue at the beginning of the launch plays a big part also. Not sure what the breadth of the EPYC2 product launch will be, but regardless AMD will be selling working 8-core chiplets for much more in an EPYC2 package and either Ryzen3000 or TR3. In addition, EPYC2 TDP limits are...
