Ten-years for me, too. And before that, was a lurker for a while. Don't post much these days. Life. Work. Drama. Still here though. TR is one of the sites I check daily. Always been a fan of this site and its community. My older brother, who is a novice when it comes to anything related to technolog...

Wait! I found some cheap 24GB down here - strangely enough, 1066MHz was exspensive ($210), but 1600MHz was $60 less?

I was just thinking the exact same thing! I just gotta find a cheap set of 24GB RAM - very hard to come by. Even a 12GB set is a bitch to find.

Thanks for the reply!

Turns out 32GB packs are cheaper than 24GB down here in Oz. If I put 32GB in there, will it only recognise 24GB in Windows?

Asus P6T SE - Max 24GB of RAM?

Hey guys,

Got this mobo: http://www.asus.com.au/Motherboards/Int ... ifications

According to the link above, it says its max RAM is 24GB - it has six DIMM slots - could I put in 32GB of RAM if I got myself 4 x 8GB sticks?

Re: Will this RAM work with my CPU and mobo?

For what you are doing, a move to X79 might be a solid move. I think the entry-level SB-E is running ~$300. Do you run an SSD also? Those tend to be very helpful for your usage as well. Perhaps 1 for apps/OS and even another for a scratch disk. I'm definitely thinking about it! :) I would really lo...

Yeah, I knew that part (64bit being able to address a lot more RAM than 32bit), but I didn't know that different versions of Win 64bit had different RAM limits. I thought they were all 192GB.

CPU and motherboard should both support it - just make sure you're running an OS that will recognize it all (W7 Home Premium 64-bit only supports up to 16gb).

I was unaware of that. I'm running Windows 7 Professional (which can handle 192GB. right?).

Re: Will this RAM work with my CPU and mobo?

Thanks for the replies everyone :) They will work, but do you need 32 GiB of RAM? CAS Latency of 10 is pretty high. I try to stick to 7, myself. I'm currently running my 2600K @ 4 x 4.2GHz with 16GB of RAM. I was actually looking to build a system around the 3930K and use a mobo with eight RAM slots...

I'm about to order these for my 2600K + P8P67Pro setup: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820231507

Just wanted to make sure that these sticks will be compatible with my CPU and mobo. They'll be fine, right?

Hey guys, thanks so much for the replies! :)

I was actually looking at these before, however, they don't seem to be available in Australia (looked everywhere!) :( I don't mind ordering from the US - the only thing that worries me is warranty, however, the Klipsch seem to be high-quality!

Vertex 2 120GB vs Vertex 3 120GB

I'm getting my new B3 revision P8P67 mobo on Monday, and have decided to get a new hard drive while I'm at it. My current OS/Apps drive is a Vertex 2 120GB. ...cause i7 2600K CPU's are non-existent here. And I really need to build within the next week (long story). However, I'm starting to think, even if Newegg (or other US e-tailers) did ship to Oz, it'd take more then seven days to get here...right?

I prefer the amount of dynamic range in the second picture. I would have used a larger aperture and brought the ISO down as much as possible to minimise the noise in the clothing. If you can, I think you should give the skin-tones a warmer colour. The highlights on the peoples foreheads got blown ou...

How "light" is you photo/video editing? What type of camera do you own (just so I know the compression format (i.e. .H264, AVCHD) that you are using)?

Cool.

I've read that it's performance will be like that of the GTX 480? The GTX 480 sells for $389 down here, and the GTX 580 for $575. I hope they price is below the GTX 480...cause if performance will be on par with the GTX 480, but is gonna cost $100 more...I might as well buy the GTX 480...right?
