Back at the cottage, waiting for the storm to clear before we can start proper cleanup.

Also, here are Gleek's travels with the Wasson Cup.

Thanks for hosting again. Always a nice time.

Re: New Rig (first time in ~15 years)

I just snagged this monitor on Newegg for $349! The GTX 970 came with a copy of The Division and it is running at full tilt with nary a hiccup. At a low 1920x1080 resolution (2.1 megapixels), the GeForce GTX970 should run all currently available games at much higher than necessary frame rates. I wo...

Just wanted to thank everyone for their input/help. You guys rock! The beast is up and running and running like a dream. Basically, zero issues on the hardware side and only a few issues on the software side. When I moved over my photos I had a problem with permissions and it apparently is somewhat ...

Indeed. As you can see it's VERY rare that I build a computer. Here is what I ended up with. Everything will arrive in the next few days. Sadly, the cooler apparently is coming from China and thus will take about 7-10 days to arrive at best. THANKS FOR THE HELP ALL!!! Fans (3) - http://www.newegg.co...

No worries. Yeah I don't think there is a separate filter just the grill. Good catch and I won't lie I'm a little annoyed about that. Will find out when it arrives in a few days. I may have to make my own. :/

Too bad about the full ATX mobo and case. Enjoy all the empty space. Looks like the top and PSU vents of the MasterCase5 are filtered, but not the front intake? Gee thanks. Re: Anyone repair anything today?

I successfully unclogged by bathtub drain with baking soda and vinegar last night. Worked better than I expected! Though, just a tip, when I initially did it and waited 15 min or so it didn't seem to help much. However, after sitting overnight I went to take a shower this morning and it was draining...

Re: New Rig (first time in ~15 years)

Does anyone have an answer/opinions on the second post? Why did TR recommend the BX100 over the MX200? Am I missing something??? The BX100 has data protection features. Ah ok. So I guess that's where the slight slowdown occurs. My only concern is some said the drives (either of the crucial) wouldn'...

Re: New Rig (first time in ~15 years)

If you run VMs much I'd definitely go for 16GB of slower RAM over 8GB of faster RAM. Otherwise... yeah, I'd probably go for the faster stuff. No VMs really so I'm planning on going with the 8gb faster RAM. I'll have two slots empty so upping that will be easy later on. So what is your total budget ...

Re: New Rig (first time in ~15 years)

My first question is this: Looking at these 3 currently. The first two were in the TR system 2015 guide, but I was wondering about the MX200 that appears to have faster R/W speeds for basically the same price. Is there something I am missing or is there a reason to stay away from the MX200 vs the BX...

I also have most of a case of water and an unopened box of Mike's Party pack that I can bring (both left over from a previous party). I don't own any coolers unfortunately as I live in a very small condo. I can bring a ladder ball set too as well as a disc.
