I've also seen laptops that would have their cases put pressure on the power button when they are picked up, which would turn the machine off. Just throwing it out there.

I actually didn't make it past the first couple missions of the second game. I tried it because it was free. Not a fan of the reboot, the first new xcom was just barely good enough to play through once. Xenonauts 2 is something I am quite looking forward to though.

MS gains nothing by having people on W7/8. If they're on W10 they can runs ads and all that for extra cash and it costs them nothing.

Re: Battletech game coming out

I sometimes purchase games early...sometimes I purchase them in 2014 and then wait until 2017 to play them. For me it's a question of wanting to fund development to help get a better product at the end. If pre-ordering whatever this game is won't help fund development then you're taking risk with ze...

Re: Apple Dumps Intel: CONFIRMED!

I wouldn't mind a shift to ARM style processors. x86 is pretty locked down with patents and such on the hardware side and windows/directX monopolizing the software side. ARM is a lot more open which is something I can easily get behind.

almost certainly.....as someone in canada I find people around me to be extremely wasteful all the time.

Also you should check out cronometer. Lentils are really good protein and they're way cheaper than cheese.

Re: spending only $100 a month on food.

A subject I know. So one of the first things I would do is make an account on cronometer. It's free and decent. I think you may be surprised at how easy it is to meet your protein needs. Having some nuts(peanuts are cheap) or lentils especially will pile in the protein with little cost. Frozen veggi...

Re: Microsoft confirms it’s already cancelling its newest version of Windows

Microsoft has no idea what it's doing. It constantly creates or buys software and then kills it. Maybe it's being run by a hydra? edit---------- It actually happens within windows itself. I don't recall which version, 8 or 10, but I was installing a driver(maybe?) with the 8/10 interface which was f...

the poe story....I don't know it super well. You can actually just ignore it and smash mobs. Also so you know poe is far more complicated in terms of character design than diablo. This is either a good or bad thing depending on how much freedom you like to have to fail or succeed. There are of cours...

Re: Is overclocking safe

Overclocking will reduce the lifespan of your CPU. Let's say your CPU could run for 40 years with default settings. You OC just a little and reduce it to 35 years. OC a lot and it will last for five years. Is that long enough? Depends on your situation really. Of course as someone mentioned before i...

Quick question: How many of those bitching about Win10 telemetry/privacy use debit cards or NFC phone payment methods out in meatspace? Conversely, how many of you solely use cash? We all shed megabytes of data on a daily basis, 99.999% of which is completely out of our control. One's choice in OS ...

Re: How bad is Windows 10 Really?

Actually you can remove all the ads by taking control of and denying everyone access to the ad files. I installed windows 10 for a day and messed around and it seemed to work just fine. Maybe they patched it I am not sure but it worked a year or two ago.

They removed live boot drive mirroring which sucks pretty hard. Windows 8 removed the ability to prioritize wireless networks which I assume is still missing from 10. There are other things, but windows to me has been a slow but steady removal of control and features I use without anything I find us...

MS doesn't gain anything by not giving away 10 to 7/8 holdouts. I imagine you will be able to switch(not upgrade) to 10 forever.

I brought some Simply Truth meatless patties last night from Ruler Foods, and had a patty this morning. Why keeping files for a program inside that program's directory became something nobody...
