Re: TR Fantasy Football 2018

The Last two weeks have been stinkers. Firstly I lose my star RB to suspension and then everyone else decides that playing well was a desired outcome rather than some sort of requirement

Re: TR Fantasy Football 2018

This was the first year that I was able to participate in the draft due to changes in work. This will be a good chance to see if ignorance can work as a draft strategy. As well as hoping that the Vikings have a good year.

I'll be back for another year, for all the good it does trying to follow NFL from the otherside of the globe.

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

I think we've stumbled upon a dating method for future archaeologists. Estimate the age of the geek by the calculator they used in college. :P The generation before mine used slide rules. I was pretty much right on the cusp of the switchover to calculators. One of my high school math teachers still...

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

I know I've complained about it before, but I still don't understand how Dunkin coffee can be decent one time, and then complete garbage the next. Same people, same equipment, same beans, same everything --- during peak hours (so it's not sitting). I just don't get it. I rarely drink the stuff now,...

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

-11f right now (it could be worse). Indeed. We don't get that cold here very often (some years we don't get there at all), but it looks like this winter is gonna be a cold one. -10F predicted for New Year's Eve, and -11F for this coming Thursday night. (Northern Illinois) At least it's not snowing ...

Re: NFL 2017

Ugh, there is no one I want to root for in there. Here's to hoping it's at least a good SB. The Steelers are the only team I would "like" to see win from the AFC for Ryan Shazier. They're also the only real challengers for the Patriots unless Kansas City have sobered up from their roller ...

Re: Your Personal Smart Phone Evolution

After using Nokia’s in the early days. My first smartphone was the iPhone 3G, followed by iPhones 5, 5S, 6 plus and now 8 plus. Been happy in the iOS ecosystem and have quite a bit invested in apps over the years. Would be challenging to find all the replacements for all those little apps that I’ve ...

Re: NFL 2017

It’s a nice change to be able watch my team take on the Packers live. Being over east for Christmas (Queensland) and the change in time zone makes the game start at at reasonable time, 11:30am rather than early in the morning. Also kinda amusing looking at the temperature there as we’re rapidly head...

Coffee. Kinda necessary as I set off on another quiet drive across Australia. Just a lazy 5000 odd km from Western Australia to Queensland.

It's nice to find that my team doesn't suck this season.

Thankfully my Vikings are playing awesome defense so far.

I really thought I'd lose this with Aaron Rodgers and most of my WR's on the bye. But the rest of them came through.

Re: Test Cricket

It has been a problem for not just the Indian side, all of the sides from the sub-continent have struggled on the bouncy pitches you find elsewhere. Just like we struggle when we head to the sub-continent as well. Just look at how long it took Australia to win a series in India. Yap, Australia side...

I am surprised to see this thread, we are discussing Dhoni's captaincy at TR ? :o Why not? It's a broad community here at TR. Agreed, to be honest, its refreshing for me atleast. Silly mid on and slips, the twitch cricket, positions. I've played em' both. At least in the slips you've got a chance. Silly mid you're nothing but a target. A lot depends on who the batsman is when fielding in close. With some you're actually quite safe as they don't have the power to hit that ha...

Latest news is that one of the South Africans is out of the 2nd test with a case of mild concussion after wearing a ball to the side of his helmet in the first test (as well as a couple of stitches). I've got a list of sporting objects I don't want to be hit by. The only one above a cricket ball is...
