Well back on topic! :) Honestly this reeks of a high-up exec making a "swift" decision rather than taking a PR management approach. From the "open-ended punishments" in the contract to the "termination" (I think a ban is the right term) of the casters... and now the PR ...

Re: CPU being eaten by Overwatch

You can forcefully set which GPU you want to use on which app through Windows Settings. You should also be able to see which adapter is being used by Overwatch in the video settings for the game. If it’s your iGPU then yes, you should be able to resolve that. However if your actual GPU is used there...

Re: How do you store/organize your stash of extra cables?

I have them tied in Velcro Tape, and then use dividers within drawers to categorize their type (e.g. USB mini, USB-C, etc.) For those cables that I don't move/use that often I have them all stored in a single storage box from Ikea (organized by types in boxes within)

I've heard this straight from Adam: YouTube is where PC hardware vendors spend their ad budgets. AdSense is one thing, but that's not where the real money is. You need contracts with the big vendors and they only want to spend money on YouTube. :-? It totally makes sense! I find myself more often t...

Yes I have! an old macbook from 2013 and a new macbook from 2017. The 2013 one was super easy to pull off... and the 2017 one ended up with a daughterboard snapped out of place (I mistakenly screwed the wrong screws in the wrong standoffs) and had to replace the entire display assembly :( oh they jo...

@JohnC, I think the problem lies on the target demographic. I am all up to address better thermal paste benefits in laptops (cfr. Re: Can I? Win95/98 on a dual P3 SuperMicro P6DGE

WinME had a lot of issues that stemmed from bad drivers developed for Win98, as ME removed certain types of drivers, and enforced the use of WDM (afaik - I never had any problems with ME at all, never a single blue screen). However, Win98SE is probably the best choice as all the drivers were aimed a...

Since you're using Intel/Nvidia for graphics, perhaps you need to set which programs use what video cards. This would be the "Graphics Performance" settings. This guide can show you where to go for these settings: https://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/manage-graphics-performance-per-a...

Unless you're using it exclusively in a room that is pressurized with HEPA-filtered air, it is probably just a matter of time. Re: 2k 24" monitor w/ FreeSync

You are never going to find a panel that "does it all with few downsides" unless your budget is unlimited, and you're not picky about size. LCD panels with high color accuracy and true 10-bit support tend to be slower, so making them fast enough to game on tends to cost the big bucks. And...
