Re: Not Connectable

Hold off for a bit as I've just had a brainstorm. (a rare event) I have an Ooma voip system between the modem and the NIC. I will remove it and see whether that makes a difference. Okay, after removing the Ooma and rebooting the modem and the computer, and THEN having Win7 Troubleshooting look at th...

Re: Not Connectable

The link lights on the modem seem to be doing what they are supposed to do as per the instructions that came with it. The NIC seems to be operating normally. "Can you ping your ISP's upstream router? " I don't remember how to do that. "Are you using DHCP" I don't know. " or ...

Not Connectable

On Dec 01 I switched from ADSL to Cable. Now instead of a router all I have is a wired modem, and have been not connectable since the switch. I don't understand how this is even possible. I use the Win 7 firewall and Utorrent is allowed. I have a static IP. I have a headache. Are there any clever su...

If you go with Intel you will need a cpu and motherboard. (assuming that your 840 uses ddr3)
Your video card is dated too, so $400 is probably not quite enough.

Re: Internet radio appliances

I was given a Grace Mondo and I like it a lot. It's possibly a bit overpriced ($170) but I am impressed with its attractive design and build quality. It has Aux and USB in, and stereo RCA out. Has around 10 presets and a very nice display. A bit fiddly to set up the wifi. Pretty decent sound as a st...

Their inexpensive series is the CX. (the CX430 can usually be found for $50 or less)

Until the chipset/NIC drivers have been installed you won't be downloading much from anywhere.

NCIX Canada will build any combination you select for $50 extra, and then ship it, and they now have a US operation. Or perhaps Newegg offer a similar service? "Thermaltake TR2 600W ultra quiet ATX Power Supply, SLI & X-fire ready" That unit wouldn't fill me with confidence! I'd stick ...

I highly recommend checking the card length against what will fit.
I had to take backéswap a 6850 when it was too long for my case. The Nvidia 560 was about an inch shorter.

Re: Is it possible to use 3.0 TB HDD in Windows - 7 ?

I went through this recently with a 2 TB to 3 TB WD green. Win 7 had no problems recognizing or formatting properly. I'm not quite sure why you are so obsessed with "cloning" your 2Tb drive. If it has folders, copy them over. If you have normal files just shift + click copy the lot of them...

"It's the same 2, no matter what port they're on"

You might look at getting new/better cables, as the ones that come with motherboards aren't very high quality.
The ones with locking clips are around $3-4 each.

The problem that you are facing is that if you met "your perfect woman" tomorrow, you would likely screw it up. You need to make mistakes (and learn from them) so that when SHE shows up, you won't blow it. Women are at their best in their mid-thirties, preferably with a kid or two (it brin...

I occasionally use a prescription one (Trazodone) that is tryptophan (turkey) based.
My only complaint is that one doesn't seem to have much effect, and two leaves me a bit groggy.

And, if I use them too often I find myself making strange sounds and scratching in the dirt.

I believe that System Restore is only a partial image of your C drive and can only restore to that exact drive.
What you are trying to do is "cloning" your C drive to another drive, and would require cloning software.
