Privacy Concerns Facebook/Google

Hello All I usually do not worry about privacy but sometimes things really make me wonder. About a year ago I sent an image of a whiskey bottle and freshly poured glass of said whiskey through facebook messenger to a friend with no text. Boom within an hour I had whiskey adds on facebook. This led m...

Re: World Of Warcraft

I just started my subscription back up, first time in 10 years. I played heavily in Vanilla and BC 20+ hours a week, I was in my 20s and had no kids. WotLK was good but my son was born and my available time became less and less. I did not buy BFA yet, honestly i'm hoping I get a beta key for Classic...

I also liked Altered Carbon and Dark Matter quite a bit. Currently I'm watching: Justified, started it a few years back and I want to finish the series. Dare Devil Season 3, just finished it, it was okay not great. Homestead Rescue, these people buy this remote property and have no idea what they ar...

Re: GTX 1070 Ti at $350: Return or Keep?

The RTX 2070 is only about 15% faster on average than the 1070ti at 2560x1440. I doubt the 2060 is going to be faster than the 1070ti.

I posted the exact same question about 6 weeks ago. I went with the 2080, I hate the price but I also couldn't spend $500+ dollars on a card that has similar performance to a 2 year old GTX 1080. So far i'm very happy with my RTX 2080. You may not notice lower frame rates as much because you have G-...

Re: What are you playing right now?

I am having a blast playing old stuff from the Street Fighter 30th anniversary collection. Man input detection in the first Street Fighter was really unforgiving. I love Street Fighter since I was 11 and played the original in the arcade/bowling alley. Later I worked at a Chuck E Cheese type place ...

Make sure your power supply meets the requirements for your system CPU, GPU, Drives, Fans, etc... Generally you need to make sure you meet the requirements for you GPU and you will be okay. Reseat the video card and reconnect the connectors from your GPU if you have any.

Re: A good Wireless Router under $100?

I appreciate all the feedback and I will probably stretch my budget to $150. From what I get if I buy a sub $100 router i've had others tell me to make sure I can install the open source DD-WRT, but I probably wont. Part of me leans toward the Nightwawk 7000 for ease of setting up, but if I buy the ...

A good Wireless Router under $100?

Hello All, I'm curious what peoples thoughts or which routers they have had the best experience with. My house ~1500ft^2 and is 2 stories + basement, so I don't think I need an extender. Currently we use the built in XFinity wifi, I did disable the their 2nd network as my kids ipads freaked out abou...

I love 3 types of games ARPG/Loot Based, 4X Games especially the Civ Series, and Street Fighter. After 5ish years I can't play Diablo 3 any more. A friend had been playing Warframe on and off and I finally gave it a try, it's not bad. I'm not the biggest fan of starting over leveling new frames, but...

Microcenter had the Gigabyte Geforce 2080 Gaming OC model for $750us locally. I picked it up this morning. I get 1080TI level performance with DLSS support(sooner) and RT(but I doubt it will ever get used). As I said I was mostly frustrated, but I was ready to buy a new high end card.

Re: New Video Card torn between the 2080 or 2070

You seem to have the ability to tolerate low FPS, given the 970, so could the 1070 Ti be a tolerably good improvement for that 1 to 1.5 years? Asking because NVIDIA's time interval between top-end car drops is usually well within that up to ~550 days and you might hope that pricing will become sane...

Re: New Video Card torn between the 2080 or 2070

Do you need to double FPS, though? Pricing on the GTX 1080 ($450) and GTX 1070 Ti ($350) is currently sane, if you could tolerate buying last-gen (though I'd guess maybe not) and that way you could still have a hugely better GPU and $300-400 kept in the bank. You could even buy a GTX 1070 Ti and th...

Re: New Video Card torn between the 2080 or 2070

Yes the 1080TI cards are crazy expensive, which is weird since the performance is about the same as RTX 2080s which are $750-$850 I feel like if I go budget I should just get a 1070TI for $360ish. The 1070ti is about 93% faster than my 970 at 2560x1440, vs the 2070 being 125% faster. I have been wat...

New Video Card torn between the 2080 or 2070

Hello All, I've been using a Geforce 970 for 3.5 years now and was waiting for the Nvidia 2XXX release. I bought a 2560x1440 GSync Display about 18 months ago and I know I would benefit from a new card at that resolution. I want and can get a 2080 for $750us. My struggle is that I always justified b...

Re: GTX -- er RTX -- 2080 & 2080Ti launching at once

I've been holding out for the 2070 or 2080 for 8 months, since Nvidia is a bit behind their normal 18-20 month release cycle. I really want a 2080 but if its over $650, I will have to settle for a 2070. I really doubt the TI gets released at exactly the same time as the 2080 because as others said t...
