Re: My plant based Keto diet experience

oh dear 1: Starvation mode does not exist. Yes it does. It's when ketones become the primary fuel for your cells. You enter starvation mode in roughly 3 days. That's the amount of time it takes your body to exhaust its glycogen supply when you restrict carbs. What you're referring to is adaptive th...

Re: What are you playing right now?

Horizon Zero Dawn Saw this game a while back and decided it sounded kinda dumb... your character is a young girl living in a post-apocalyptic world, and who hunts robotic creatures with a bow and spear... finally ended up buying it on recommendation the other day. And it's actually really cool. The ...

Re: What are you playing right now?

God Of War This is just a load of fun, and once of the nicest looking games I've ever played. Some of the reviews I've read complained that it was too slow compared to the earlier games in the series... I actually really dig the pacing. I like that the emphasis is on the characters and the story - b...

Far Cry New Dawn Yeah, I know... it's been out a while :D Actually just finished the main story last night. Not really a whole game in my opinion... feels more like a DLC expansion of FC5 to be honest. Basically it's the same location as FC5 but 17 years after a nuclear war... the landscape is a mix...

Far Cry 5 Just got started so it's kind of early impressions... but very nice so far. Graphics are excellent and the layout is very nicely done. Just discovered Poets of the Fall. Great musicians, great vocals, and incredible prose turned lyrics. Sounds like a race condition. There is some transient state which is preventing the e-mail attach code from successfully opening the file; adding the extra debug code delays execution of the e-mail attach operation just enough that you're no longer hitting the problem. Race conditions are unpredict...

This is more of a curiosity thing, so I don't expect folks to spend any real time on this... it's just something I found really odd, and was hoping to find out why it might have occurred. I redeem them all so that I can watch them from my Movies Anywhere account. It's really convenient to not have to swap out discs when you don't feel like it, but you always have that physical copy in case something goes wrong. Hah, for me the "digital copy" would be the "in case some...

Disk management in Windows should be able to see the partitions and destroy them. Failing that, issuing the 'clean' command in diskpart to that device should erase the partition table and allow you to do anything you want to it. Yeah, disk management in Windows should... Two major issues I see. 1. Sprint - you might think I'm joking but there is a legitimate reason Sprint has less subscribers than any of the other big boys. They just don't have the reach of the others. Plain and simple. That's true in a general sense but it's worth checking out the service maps (fo...

I had a similar issue on a Windows machine and the "fix" was to unplug the computer for about ten minutes and then plug it back in again. I honestly don't know why that worked but it did - my working theory is that it pissed off the gremlins that were causing the issue. But the machine wor...
