Re: Game Audio PC Build (CPU and Noise questions)

I have four 5 year old WD WD green 2tb drives and they have performed flawlessly for me. Also the gaming machine, my light gaming/HTPC and my very light gaming HTPC have been running 24/7 for all those years so I believe when the drive is not in use the way it parks like most every 5400 rpm drives r...

Re: Skylake voltages and durability

I would go skylake over Haswell since haswell's tiny integrated VRM's are much more likely to fail than a motherboard big fat VRM. I have been counting my lucky star with my 2600k that has been running at 4.5ghz at least 24/7 since day 1, 5 years ago....I thank my motherboards plethora of fat VRMs t...

I recall something about there only being one Sith lord and his apprentice possibly apprentices. I am probably totally wrong but it kinda makes sense that sighs would fight each other since they always want to be the most powerful. Just a thought

The budget is very generous, especially in the context of your 1680x1050 display. If you don't intend to upgrade it, you can buy a very capable computer for close to half of your budget. I think he is getting a computer for the long haul of gaming at the best your video system can provide..that can...

Kougar People also seem to expect the i7-6700K to cost the same as a 2600K did, not taking into account things like increased manufacturing costs or inflation. Thats probably why Intel decided to drop the cooler and charge the same as the 4790K. . It is the 3rd 14nm chip intel has made so manufactu...

As for the 21/9 ultra wide format I LOVE IT tons of desktop real estate and the 29" versions are not that much harder to push that a standard 1080p panel...now my 34" 3440-1440 panel takes some graphics oomph and Vram. But not as much as the wasteful 4k panels.....if I ever get a 4k panel ...

I have to ask....Is there something wrong with your 2500k? If your just gaming with a single card the 2500k should be plenty of CPU to just keep it and save your self a ton of money and just upgrade the GPU...especially if you have and still are using a 560ti. Unless you need a second gaming rig con...

It is pretty amazing the performance per watt the Xeon-D has compared to its higher clocked dual socket 2011 Xeon counterparts......it makes me wonder if Kaby Lake might be made with the Xeon-D architecture....it seems a unlocked Quad or 6 core consumer desktop version of the Xeon-D running at 4ghz ...

Absolutely not. I'd rather not have the added expense for something I won't use...all of my desktops are wired. I would also rather see them put that towards an integrated Intel NIC. I'm also in the "very picky about hardware" crowd. Another absolutely not here. Desktops should be wired p...
