Was looking for more than a simple tasks list.

And Thunderbird... I'm not happy with it even for email.

lacking in language skills :) not to say there aren't helpful, knowledgeable users --- they're just a much smaller percentage overall. On TR it's survival of the fittest. Dealbreaker. If I'm not able to talk about the best vehicle for a zombie apocalypse, it's not my kind of place. Next to trial: H...

Re: Personal to do/task management software?

Physical pen and paper is not for me. Anyway, I found a candidate: MyLifeOrganized . It ticks many of the boxes, it's configurable more than typical (but not fully), and it's oldschool in development philosophy and design. It's also missing a feature or two, is a little messy in some usage and visua...

Though as usual for these external info sources, the stats seem questionable.
0.52% of search visitors supposedly arrived following "how do i disable computrace"?

New feature?

we will add an opt-out button in upcoming versions that will make it easy to opt-out of providing this data. In the meantime, you can block traffic from UniFi devices to trace.svc.ui.com.

Too many other features (to be expected given what it's for), and too much baggage, junk, dependencies.

Looking for something standalone and light.

Personal to do/task management software?

People seem to like Trello and a few others, but any recommendations for something offline, Windows-native, lightweight?

An upgraded to do list with some tagging, prioritization, colors, maybe hierarchy, maybe a basic integrated calendar, etc.

Re: GNS3 - gathering requirements for building a dedicated home server

I don't have real answers, but can't you just upgrade hardware as needed?

Get a motherboard with 4 RAM slots, use one, add more later as needed. Start with a cheap CPU, upgrade when needed.

You don't need an investor. An hour per day to collect and tag data from Wikipedia and the web. A few months later you'll have thousands.

Re: Food for thought: The number 8

Well, some might say metal is Satanic. :)

But if to be scientific about it, a list of positives or negatives doesn't say much without context.
You need to run statistics on a large dataset of events linked to all digits, and see if 8's negative/positive ratio is higher than other digits.

Re: Image Sharpening " Gpu Scaling " what does it do ? not clear for me after video

As far as I know, GPU scaling means that in non-native resolutions the GPU would scale to native before sending out to the monitor. So a 1920x1080 monitor would always get that.

Without GPU scaling the monitor would get whichever resolution the computer is set to.

Your gamma/brightness settings appear to be off, though. That scroll bar should be much easier to see. It's not Apple hardware, I can't be using it wrong. :) Also, Win8, not 10. Don't know if they changed the colors. It's a laptop screen, no gamma settings, and I wouldn't touch the software based o...

I don't know about the other suggestions given. An extra option besides the above is to find a Windows skin/theme editor. VistaStyleBuilder was one option. Not the most user-friendly, and I'm not sure about Win10 compatibility (though the forums include a dedicated sub-forum). you got a view of a n...
