Read the links we all posted. I know mine compares dual core to a straight dual CPU system. It's the same story for Intel and AMD chips.

Yes physical dual processors. I have seen Super Micro serverboards with 2 CPU sockets for 2 Intel processors but i am in doubt if the AMD x2 processors (2 cpus in 1 ) will actually out perform 2 physical cpus on a board. Its like how could u pack 2 brains in a head? Wouldn't things get all cramped ...

Probably Civilization 4. I would vote for System Shock 2, but it didn't have the nearly infinite replayability of Civ.

I'm looking at the cable prices for where I'm moving to, and it's $30 for 6 down/ 384 up if you buy a cable TV package. For an extra $10, you get 8 down, 768 up.

Use what is appropriate for the situation. Also, optimisation in what sense? Processor time? Memory footprint? These factors have to be considered. I think everyone has this urge to write some beautifully elegant solution, but in the real world that's not feasible. A lot of times writing clear code ...

Yeah, WinDirStat helped me after Avast somehow created ~80 gigs worth of log files and I couldn't figure out where my hard drive space went.

Ok, I feel really dumb for posting this. Somehow, I managed to lock the height stand on my new 2005FPW all the way down. I can't seem to make it raise up anymore. Anyone have a suggestion?

ISP/Cellular Provider Recommendations

Well, I have my accepted my first "real" (post-college) job, and so I'm off to Kansas City. Specifically, the Olathe part of it. I don't really know anybody down there and I'm looking at apartments and all of that good stuff. I was wondering if anybody has a good ISP to recommend for that area? On a...

Cheating in CS is a hard thing to define. As bitvector pointed out, looking at code can lead to certain insights. I would consider this cheating. And with many assignments just knowing how to do it is most of the problem, and looking at code will give you that help.

I have a 92. I didn't use it much for math, but for engineering it's invaluable. The professors aren't interested in seeing how well you can do integrals, but actually solve the engineering part of the problem, if that makes sense.
