Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

JBI: A friend of mine in the mental health field (degrees out the ass, 10 years experience in clinical work with patients) just switched jobs to get back to actually doing what he liked instead of managing so I don't think that's unique to tech, unfortunately :/ Letting the magic smoke out sounds li...

Re: Gun prOn!

My project 870 is physically completed; but does anyone have experience using chemical bluing treatments? I'm probably going to clean up the wood but otherwise leave it alone, but the finish is flat gone from the magazine and the receiver.

Thanks...he'd been in a dementia wing of a nursing home for ~8 months before going into hospice. Crappy way to go out. We're torn between sad and relieved tbh.

Re: Gun prOn!

The few people at local stores I talk to said sales are down...but as far as Remington, they've been mismanaged since the buyout. Crappy QC, nearly no innovation, and high prices in an increasingly competitive marketplace are not good for success. My grandfather passed after about a month in hospice...

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

I'd try that. But I mix stuff up; right now I'm eating chili that we made out of leftover green chili pulled pork. It's different but good. And hot. I want everyone to be healthy; can I complain about that? Since Christmas we've passed around ear infections, strep, and bronchitis. And a stomach bug ...

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

I got out of my workshop after working out yesterday, all sweaty in shorts and a tanktop...it was a little above freezing when I went out to work out, and in low single digits when I got done (in like 1.5 hours). That was the fastest I've run back to the house in ages  We're not getting snow th...

Re: NFL 2017

If I was a Browns fan I'd be livid. I'm usually all for giving HC's 3 years or so before canning them, but one damn game in 2 years? Oh man I'd be done--not for the bad record but for keeping that coach

I hiked about 6-7 miles; it was ~15 degrees when I started and warmed up to a balmy 20 or so when I was done.

My mustache froze into a giant icicle, but I saw lots of cool birds and some deer, and a fox, so that was nice

yeah, I woudln't keep a betta in less than 5 gallon; and at that point 10's are usually actually cheaper to buy for some weird assed reason.

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

turns out I am hosed so hard my anus is bruising. My water heater is in a location that is no longer legal for it to be in. Since I'm replacing it, I'll have to relocate it. Usually I'd say the hell with it and do it anyway but we're moving in May or June and putting the house for sale. So it has to...

Yep. And I managed to break it while getting it off about 10 minutes after posting that. *sigh*. why the hell are T&P relief valves so stubborn and why isn't there more clearance between the body of the water heater and the pipe that connects to the valve. Ugh.

Re: Basting meat with molasses in slow cooker?

Under some circumstances they can, and PHA's have pretty broad latitude. There's a lot of HUD programs and I'd have to know which one whm is on; sounds like one of their programs with a substance abuse focus? Those ones aren't particularly active in my area so I don't have working experince with them.

I've debated attending our local indoor football games; tickets are dirt cheap and I think my kids would enjoy a quarter or two before they got bored.

Re: Upgrade or build?

yeah, I've got my steam folder and boot drive on an SSD.

Problem is my motherboard only has 2 DIMM slots so I'd have to buy a 2x8 for RAM rather than just picking up a set of 2x4 to add to my current RAM :/ I should have mentioned that. Otherwise I'd have upgraded the RAM already
