Re: Best Android Phone to Buy (VZW)

The HTC One, Motorola Droid Ultra, Motorola Droid Maxx, and Motorola Droid Mini are all going to be announced (and released) for Verizon soon. The same goes for the Moto X, but it's rumored to be for all major U.S. carriers, not just Verizon.

Sigh. My PC took on some water damage from the May 20 tornado, and insurance is taking its sweet time processing my claim. Looks like I'm stuck using my phone for internet connectivity for the time being.

They're nothing special, but I added a few more pics from my roof. One of them is a Photosphere from my roof showing my neighborhood. Also, here's a newsclip about my friend Jeany that died. Link

First hand view of the Moore, OK tornado damage

Luckily, my house only suffered minor damage. We have a couple of broken windows, downed fences, and some slight leaking in our roof. Other than that, we were very fortunate. As you'll soon see, a lot of people in my neighborhood weren't so lucky. I took a few pics and a quick video when I was tryin...

You might be interested in one of the two 27" IPS monitors (2560x1440) offered by Monoprice. Both use the same LG panels as the Apple Cinema Display, and I think the 27" Dell Ultrasharp, too. Seeing as they're both comparable in price to the 24" Ultrasharp (1920x1200), it might be wor...

Monoprice has two 27" IPS monitors, and both use the same LG panels that make the Apple Displays. The first monitor only uses DVI-D (no HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.), but it's selling for $365.50. If you sign up for Monoprice's email newsletter, you should be given a coupon for 20% off. If you can l...

Re: Panasonic to cease plasma development

Plasma screens are very expensive to run and not as bright as LCD's I'll counter your argument that the cost per year for a plasma vs LCD is negligible for most people. Maybe when LCD first started becoming more popular, they consumed far less energy than plasmas, but that's not really the case now...

Panasonic to cease plasma development

While I'm not surprised at the announcement, this is still very much a bummer. After the launch of the ZT60 models this year, Panasonic is shifting their focus to OLED. I guess my decision to hold off on buying a VT60 has paid off, as I'll be buying a ZT60 in the near future. Do you think anybody wi...

Google to shut down Reader on July 1

In case you haven't already heard, Google is shutting down Google Reader at the beginning of July. :( While Google says that a decline in usage is the reason for cutting the service (but hey, let's keep Orkut around!), my guess is that they weren't able to monetize it. However, I know that there's a...

I just saw them last month! Epicloud is kind of meh, but overall I love Hevy Devy. I went to the show in Dallas to see Townsend, and stuck around for Gojira. I missed The Atlas Moth's set as the wife and I were having dinner. It was a damn good show, though I wish Townsend would have played "S...

T-Mobile is offering the Nexus 4 for free until Sunday, provided you sign a contract. It might not be ideal, but you could always move to StraightTalk after the contract is up.
