A towel or two to take care of the wet. When down to damp, I finger fluff and let room air take care of the damp.

Yeesh! Sounds like a waste of power to me.

This time of year every little bit of heat helps. Also the log file points credit usually matches the Advanced control estimate within a couple of points.

Re: TR Frankenbot 2018; wow, is it that time already?

My son switched his part-time GTX1070 over to Frankie on 12 Oct. During the week he usually averages around 150K PPD and the weekend before last he averaged about 300K PPD. Maybe this past weekend was a good couple of days for gaming or maybe the work unit mix has been poor recently. My old X2 has b...

Welcome back Trax! And thank you for the update! I have continued to collect the data every four weeks since I quit posting in the milestones thread, but can't seem to find the time to do anything with it.

Re: TR Frankenbot 2018; wow, is it that time already?

I've read that the CPU client doesn't like an odd number of cores/threads, which is the default configuration when running both clients. Reserving two cores/threads should help production and free up more resources for other uses of the system, although it seems counter intuitive. P.S. I am one of t...

I plan to add a 650Ti as soon as I unearth my thermal compound and assemble the system. Plus the first of next week I will ask my son to switch his part time 1070.

If the pressure gauge is still functional you could control it with a small plug into a cigarette lighter socket air compressor. They tend to be quite noisy, but you would not need to run it for very long to boost the reading. Just toggle it on and off at preset temperatures.

Auto Exotica ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8567856/ ) was all about new Mustangs this past Sunday. They had an econo-boost turbo four, a 5.0 with all the creature comforts, and a Shelby GT350. All three were six speed sticks. The Shelby looked and sounded like a worthy beast. Tonight (Tuesday) PBS ...

I have a Dell laptop that does the same thing. I had loaned it to a friend and I am fairly certain he cleaned the fan with an auto shop air compressor (probably 90 psi). The fan spins freely by hand, but when powered up it just sits and quivers. I plan to try and clean the brush carbon from between ...

If it says true then the problem is either the website or no script or your FF install ...

Re: What shows are you recently watching?

Caught a new (to me) show on my PBS national feed last evening, Sunday night at 7:00PM. It was called Auto Exotica and was three people doing driving reviews of borrowed cars. The half hour episode was divided into two segments. In each segment each reviewer was driving a different model year of a D...

Yeah, I guess some edge connectors might be a little thicker than normal and/or have square corners rather than the nicely beveled kind. And even the to spec nicely finished boards tend to pop into place with a bit of a bang. Ignoring your signature for the moment, do you still have the card you rem...

Re: Space Thread

At the frequency they use earth orbit is pretty close and the atmosphere is transparent. Plus the signal strength gain and high S/N ratio of a parabolic dish or parabolic dish array is considerable. I would expect upload speed to be quite a bit slower.

The only thing I can come up with at this point is that the card is not going all the way in the PCI express slot. It never locks when I put it in slot but is definitely pushed in as far as it can go. If it is not engaging the lock it is not going into the slot far enough. Look for something in the...

I was sad to see Instinct not listed on the CBS Sunday night lineup. Perhaps it was a one time thing or perhaps the CBS Sunday night audience is unable to cope with a who-done-it lead character who is in your face gay in a tasteful and loving way played by Alan Cumming? Or perhaps it's just the end ...
