I'd recommend getting a Plextor or a Lite-on CDRW drive instead of that HP. Lite-ons come with NERO which is a much superior product then the Easy CD Creator that the Plextor comes budled with (at least when I bought mine). So I would check what software actually comes with the CDRW drive before buy...

Yeah, there isn't any performance difference. Sometimes you can get an AMD case badge sticker with your retail CPU. But other then that (unless it comes with a bundled HSF), there isn't any difference. Check the place that you are buying the CPU from and sometimes the price difference is only a few ...

One thing about buying a single stick of 512 instead of two sticks of 256 is that it is more expensive for just one stick. Also, most 512 sticks are CAS 2.5 not the faster CAS 2. If you can find a stick of CAS 2 512 MB stick, then buy it if you can afford it. But you really want to buy RAM that uses...

What motherboard do you have and what are you using to view the temperatures? You might want to look into downloading Motherboard Monitor. And did you buy the heatsink/fan unit seperate from the CPU or is this a pre-built computer? If you bought it seperately, did you put a layer of thermal paste on...
