Things that taste good are rarely good for you, something I'm learning as I try to undo some of the regressions I made in my health in 2019.

I dislike 3D because I don't want to see movies in 3D but those showings always take up theater space and showtimes. That makes it less convenient to go to big releases.

Re: Remember when.......(decade in review)

I still think Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst were the best Peter Parker/Mary Jane. I loved Spider-Man 1 and 2. Spider-Man 2 still holds up incredibly well and might be the very best Spider-Man movie ever made. I also really enjoyed Spider-Man Homecoming and Fahrvergnügen, though. The character is a...

Re: Remember when.......(decade in review)

For sure. I remember *not* being excited for anything new Star Wars between 2000 and 2009. That MCU thing is pretty incredible. I didn't get the excitement for Iron Man when it came out, so it was probably 2010 before I even saw it. Also, I didn't believe that Spider-Man got rebooted twice, but it's...

I tried to come up with a bunch of stuff, but all of it had its start towards the end of the prior decade. On-demand video streaming, smartphones, and so on. I can come up with these things that were true in 2009: * affordable tablets didn't exist. The iPad launched in 2010 * SSDs didn't really exis...

We're angry about the shape of a box, which can lay horizontally, is just totally plain black, and won't look completely out of place under a TV. You're supposed to look at the TV, not the console. Personally I think it looks fine. This thing will blend into just about any AV rack far better than th...

Eric should be commended for pushing forward. He's doing a good job writing up something worth reading every day. It's unfortunate they can't clone him so that there's something new going up hourly-ish during business hours. I think that would cause a nice rebound.

For the most part I agree. They tend to get abandoned and the apps eventually stop working. Such is also the case with the Sony Blu-Ray player my daughter got for Christmas last year. It lost access to both Hulu and Netflix in August, which is part of why she wanted it. At least discs still work. OT...

Thanks. Those guides are not as easy to write as it seems.

Saw the $5 Steam controller and passed. Controller-based gaming on the PC begins and ends with the Xbox controller, as far as I'm concerned. If I wanted weird touch pads (and I don't) I'd game with on-screen controls on my phone.

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

That publicly posting phone numbers thing does NOT work at all, because more often than not those are caller ID spoofs. You're posting phone numbers of (sometimes) real people, and almost certainly doing nothing to lead anybody to an actual scammer.

Or best podcasting setups. That would make a bit of sense, since you need either: a. a USB microphone with direct monitoring b. an audio interface, microphone, and XLR cable to join them Since TR published DAWbench results for years, this is actually kinda in the site's wheelhouse. I expect that if ...

Re: Can I install Apple Carplay and Android Auto at the same time on a vehicle?

AFAICT factory units that support both are still in the minority. I think that's changing. I've rented a handful of cars over the last 6 months and any time I got a car with one, it supported both. That includes factory units from Kia, Nissan, and Chevy. Presumably all 2019 model years, but I don't...

They're not interested in paying for someone to put the time in to a review. That's why Adam was the one who had to ask for Ryzen 3, Navi, and Super samples. John didn't want to invest. This TR would never pay a living wage for good video reviews, even if it was seeing increased traffic.
