Do You Think Ray-Tracing Is The Future?

Just as Pixel/Vertex Shader revolutionized graphics in the late 90's - do you think Ray-Tracing will do the same for the 00's and 10's?

In his all too awesome anti-corporate moves yet, he has released his new NIN album (the slip) for FREE! And get this - in almost any media format thinkable (mp3, lossless, up to 24/96)....

Re: Replacing my router for an N solution. .

Don't know if it's too late to drop in my 2-cents, but I HIGHLY recommend getting a dual-band router if you are looking for the best N solution. In fact, if you can get a simultaneous dual-band that runs G and N simultaneously at 2.4 and 5 Ghz. Currently the best router that fits this is the Linksys...

View Popups on Firefox On As Needed Basis

One thing I found quite annoying on Firefox is that when you get popup's and it gets blocked by the blocker, you can only view the popups if you allow the entire site to receive popups. What if I just want to see one specific popup window and leave the rest of the site as-is with the blocker? Someti...

UPNP and WMP Media Sharing

One thing I always wondered was that if you enabled UPNP on your computer (through UPNP services such as WMP11 Media Sharing), do you also have to enable it on the Router hardware? What happens if you disable UPNP on the router, but keep the WMP11 Media Sharing running?

Think it's time for a PS3...

Now with the format war over and Blu-ray being the champ - it will be a bit easier and comfortable for me to invest in a PS3. This is quite possibly the longest Playstation console I held up on buying yet, but I have no regrets. Prices are going down (whopping $200) and the CELL chipsets are shrinki...

Would you get a sub-$200 3870?

Even though he 3870 isn't that great compared the 8800GT - it has more bells and whistles than any other hard I currently see (Folding, UVD, AVIVO, DX 10.1) - making it a great multimedia graphics card... If it fell to $199 or below - would you still get it or would you get the 8800GT at a slightly ...

Back in the day when the Net was still in its infancy - software encyclopedias were the only thing between you and going to a full-fledge library. But now with the Net and Google - why are software companies still selling Encarta, Compton's, and all those other software encyclopedias?
