Wait isn't the 7950GX2 is essentially 2 7950 cards glued together? And you also had 1GB vs the 512mb... I'm not sure if we have benches on the 8800 vs the GX2-series, but I say the performances are pretty close on either side (2 7xxx cards vs 1 8xxxx card albeit feature-wise the 7950GX2 is lacking)...

Make sure the PSU has enough power for the 8800-card. These newer cards require a heftier PSU (even the G92) than older cards... Also CoH may seem to default to DX10-mode when it runs on the 8800 (DX9 for the 79xx-card.) Finally, there could also be an issue with the 2GB virtual memory address barri...

You're running on 1920×1200 on your 2407WFP right? If so I wouldn't be surprised if it was lower (especially if CoH was running in DX10 mode...)

Alternative Sources For Plastic Other Than Petroleum?

One thing I was wondering about is since plastics are made out of petroleum, if we run of out of petro in 50 years, won't we stop making plastic equipment (which is everywhere in this modern age)? Are there any other materials that can make plastic?

It means that some of the additional features of Blu-ray discs (Picture-in-Picture Commentary, etc) would not work on older profile players (main movie still plays though...)

Microsoft Support rant

I must say Microsoft must be bloody cheapskates sometimes with outsourced tech support... Just updated my disk controller driver and had to reactivate my Vista key... Couldn't do it via online because it said it was already in use so I went the phone route - boy was that a mess. I got hung on the li...

Anybody have a PCI-E 2.0 Card AND Mobos?

With all you guys getting 8800GTs I was wondering if anyone of you got a mobos with PCI-E 2.0 (X38, etc...) If so, do you think you are seeing any benefits to using PCI-E 2.0?

I own a 8800gt in my main computer now. I bought it because my video card wasn't good enough for Crysis. My 8800gt lets me play Crysis at 1680x1050 (it does get choppy at times) and my 7900gs let me play it in 800x600. It's for games I play right now. My 7900gs limited me because I didn't have enou...

This question is for all you guys who are getting the 8800GT and the upcoming revised 8800GTS - are you guys getting this for solid DX9 performance or wanting it for DX10 potential in future games (or both)? I'm currently still holding off because I still can't find any cards that does DX10 well at ...

Actually I was more referring to the revision versions of both formats (HDMI with 1.3a (1.3b in the near future), and DisplayPort with 1.1 (and 2.0 revision in the near future.) I've never seen a DVI 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, etc... and I think that was a great way to solidify a standard, but these new techs a...

DisplayPort 1.0, 1.1/HDMI 1.2, 1.3, etc... When Does It End?

One thing I can't seem to understand about DisplayPort and HDMI is why it has to keep updating its standards over and over again... VGA and DVI never had this issue with multiple revisions before. These constant changes can only hinder mass adoption of the technology IMO...
