That really makes sense seeing as how AMD has already stated for the record that Zen is taped out and has met every single pre-announced goal they had for it--you know, like the 40% IPC improvement they mention constantly--40% that has nothing to do with manufacturing process but is simply the result of the architecture changes. One of those changes is AMD's brand of SMT--kind of weird, isn't it, that AMD's cpus have done as well as they have against Intel's *without* SMT in the architecture? There's also AMD's dramatic cache improvement taking the latency way down, making for a much faster cache. I somehow doubt if you've given the issue much thought, however. OK, take a long look at what SMT has done for Intel's performance and then add at least 40% in for IPC improvents across the board for AMD's FX 8xxx line of cpus. (Then add in another 10%-20% for process-related performance gain--you know, stuff like 14nms & higher clocks, etc., very possibly.)
You are probably going to have rewrite your bar chart...most definitely...
But...I did think your entry was pretty funny, even though it is bollocks, of course...!...
