So I need a bit of help/advice picking a camera or two for streaming the BBQ this year. Last year's crazy 6-camera setup was fun and effective but the picture quality left something to be desired and it was high maintenance.
I would like to do one or both of these items this year - in either case assume I have much better WiFi coverage than previously - including, at last, all the way down to the beach.
1) A stationary 360º camera that live streams to an online service that allows viewers to pan around the scene individually instead of everyone fighting over the same PTZ control. Strongly considering the Ricoh Theta S
because I know it can stream to YouTube
and I saw a lot of them at SVVR.
2) A mobile water-proof action camera, high picture quality, something I can stream over WiFi and that ideally has a replaceable battery so it can be used all day. If it doesn't natively support RTSP or something I can capture in Xsplit - then I need to at least be able to screen capture its output and re-encode it. In this case when I say over WiFi I don't mean a short-range-to-an-app-running-on-a-nearby-phone, I mean connected to a proper wireless network and streamed to any device on that network - like how I've used my IP cameras in past years.
