Now that I think of it, I may get the same experience by putting Nori flakes on spam slices sauteed in balsamic vinegar, after spreading the mayo. Along with poached eggs, sticky steamed rice, a side of atsara (pickled papaya), and hot mocha, this may be my next foodie adventure.

So you're basically looking for a canned, pre-cooked turkey loaf? That would be Turkey Spam. Just season to taste. Pretty sure I've seen it at local supermarkets (Chicago area). Or you can always order it on Amazon.

If I did start this company, I think I'll name it Canned American Mystery Meat or CAMM and marketed it as a healthier and tastier alternative to Spam and toward those who don't care for pork products.

Yep-yep, straight from the bladder. Do you use Kewpie roasted sesame dressing on meat? It's meant for salads, but I found that it goes well with grilled and breaded pork. It might work with breaded Spam Lite, too.

I never had Prem, but took one bite of Treet and gave the rest to my dog at the time. She went outside and buried it. So hell no!!!

Canned Al-American Mystery Meat for the halal markets.

Or if the Cloned meat market takes off, call it Canned Artificial Turkey, and put "Made with real CAT!" on the can.

I'm on a low carbohydrate diet and my preferred breakfast these days is three eggs scrambled with pepper jack cheese and a cut up slice of jalapeno spam.

Similar to how I grew up eating it, Spam scrambled with eggs or in an omelet or cooked for a quick sandwich. Either way it was always sliced or diced and fried up.

I have been known to consume spam and eggs when I'm in the mood. And sometimes a couple slices on bread with mustard can hit the spot.

HELL yes. Kewpie Mayo is some versatile stuff. You can season it in any and every way.

"Straight from the bladder" is not a phrase one often sees in connection with food products.

Real bladders if cleaned and treated properly can be used to store foods and liquids.

No not really, But the Kewpie Mayo is sold in this squeezable plastic bottle that is softer and more pliable than any squeeze bottles we have here in the U.S. It actually sort of resembles a water bladder like whats in a CamelBak or one of those old fashion hot water thingies.

Now that I think of it, I wonder if governments around the world would actually allow a food company use "Mystery Meat"? as a product name even if it was just a joke?

It's called "mechanically-separated meat".

Well if it is artificially grown it wouldn't be "mechanically-separated meat" now would it?

That would depend on the manufacturing process, I imagine. If it's grown on some sort of substrate, similar principles may apply.

Kind of moot at the moment since we are a long way from mass producing artificially grown meat. I wonder how a company could market it to consumers? I do imagine that some people will refuse to eat it all, while it could also be a big hit in some circles at the same time.

Heck, Soylent is named after a fictional product made of ground-up dead people, and they seem to be doing OK.

I'm thinking chicken and turkey would be the best meat to artificially grow and far easier to sell to a wider range of people than beef or pork.

If it's all artificial anyway, why would people object based on what kind of meat it is meant to resemble?

Well maybe, but I'm thinking that devout Hindus, Muslims, and Jews at least would still have issues eating beef and pork even if is cultured in a vat.
