RIP: Martin Landau

Tue Jul 18, 2017 6:58 pm

There've been a few such threads in recent months, so I'm continuing the tradition.

Martin Landau died. :(
I've always had a soft spot for him for some reason, maybe since Mission Impossible: TOS.
I thought he'd live forever, or at least like Eli Wallach, but no.

Farewell.

It almost killed his career, but I was always fond of Space: 1999.

All episodes of Space: 1999 are available.

Season 2 was garbage. I was so upset after seeing the first episode of season 2 that I wrote an angry letter to the producers. I was 14 at the time. ;-)

This is my first time hearing about him. I guess he did stuff that was either before my time or outside of the few things i watch.

Indeed. I remember watching that with my dad when I was a kid.

Can't remember a time when his acting was anything but first rate.

The Martin Landau performance that I was really impressed with was Crimes and Misdemeanors. It was a great performance in a great movie.

I didn't know him by name, but when I saw his face I remember him as an excellent actor.

Lest we forget, Ed Wood. Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Landau, it was well deserved.

I suppose he was usually a supporting actor. Recently saw him in Rounders (1998 movie).
