Since the beach and fireworks are 99% of the reason that the wife and kids come along, I'm going to leave them home and come by myself. See everyone Saturday.

Strike that, looks like the canopy is not available. Hopefully weather will be cooperative. Current forecast is for rain early, then again late at night; so if that holds we should be fine.

Aww, that sucks. There are two public beaches very close if they want to check them out, though.

And at that beach there won't be some madman flinging hyper-velocity potatoes at them.

No to mention that if the family bails, Ian has 3 less tickets for winning the giveaway hardware. ;)

Actually, that'd make it doubly interesting. Fire the potato from the BBQ spot, and have a contest between the gerbils at the next beach over to see who caught it.

I’m bringing my White Fox with custom keycaps and several switch testers for keyboard nerds to check out. If you have interesting keyboards to bring, please do! I want to see a vintage Model M or F and a Topre board. :)

Put me down for some Condiments; usually I get one or two of the Heinz-Picnic-Pack-Ketchup-Sweet-Relish-Yellow-Mustard.

I'll most likely also get a Veggie tray, and some sweets, along with more stuff to drink.....I'll know more when I get close.

Car is loaded and nav has been uploaded to the phone. EZ-Pass is on the windshield. This time I remembered to put the glowsticks/tracers in the gear box for the cannon, so they'll get there this year. Tried to find my spare Model M for Damage, but it seems to be hiding for the moment (it better just be "hiding", else I'll be pissed). Also didn't have time to paint/stencil the cannon barrel in olive drab with yellow Acme part number designations (#1391401, of course); sorry 'bout that Bruno. Maybe next year. Have 5 4-packs of VT craft beer (all 5 different brewers AND types) and 1 4-pack of craft-produced VT mead. The counter jockey at the beer store gave me mad props for the mead purchase, so we'll see how that goes. Google says 9 hours to Erie, PA, which really means 10 to 11 given my maximum pee distance (Gerbils, just wait until the first digit hits 5. You'll grok then). If I depart on time at 06:00, I'll make it there before the dinner rush. At least June means not having to dodge pre-season football around Buffalo.

not sure if a Mitsumi KKE-E99AC mechanical clicky AT 5-pin din wired keyboard will do anything for the masses. I too have an ibm model M clone around but can't seem to locate it.

i'll load up a large cooler chockful of only rarest and highest abv craft beers that only the rich & famous can afford to buy (they call these beers whales) - all for the sharing of course, cuz that's what its all about! :)

Well, I've officially booked at tent (20'x40'). That pretty much ensures we won't actually need it and that I wasted $400, enjoy laughing at my expense, but you're welcome for bribing away any potential rain. ;)

Despite not being able to shake the fact that I've forgotten something, things seem to be shaping up ok. Weather looks like it'll be ok for tomorrow at this point, but come prepare for at least a little rain, just in case.

Nothing to do now but relax and make my minions do the rest of the work.

Some crazy paramotor action this morning.

Also, I predict that, even without rain, the tent will be popular because it will make phone screens much easier to read. 8)

Just taking a quick moment to post before heading to the cottage again for cleanup/breakfast... Wow, yesterday was a great day, thanks to everyone the helps make the BBQ look easy. We had a couple changes this year but I think everything just went awesome even without a couple of the traditional BBQ accompaniments.

I wish my wife and oldest daughter had been able to make it out, but Ellie wasn't feeling quite up to getting out. My sister-in-law brought Wren out though, so she got to stare seriously at some of you and pet the "kitties" - awesome.

Image

We missed you Ian, really sorry you were under the weather. The boys did a pretty good just running the bracket without you, it only required minor translation for others to understand. Speaking of the boys, I've got to get ready to wake them up for our traditional post-BBQ Sunday morning stop at the gas station of energy drinks...

Notes from this outing:
I'm glad I came out! WTF where's the beach?!

Captain Ned needs a drink named after him, something with plenty of potato vodka and "bang" with a smooth classy finish.

I love my car at one point in the trip the car reported 56mpg avg over 25 miles, total round trip for 200miles since I filled it up on Friday was 47mpg.
(Holland is a gradual downhill from where I live so that helps.)

Burger were AWESOME as usual though I'm not sure why I got asked if I wanted melted cheese on mine? Isn't that a law somewhere?

Many thanks to Starfalcon and JBI for buying more of my old computer crap. Now I can fix my core-i7 2600k. (needs a new power supply)
I hope the scheduling works out next year so I can come again.
