Snowy start to Spring in the NE. Looks like we got about a foot of snow from this last Nor'Easter event over two days. Time to shovel it out. Oh well least I got a couple days off from work.

It hasn't been that harsh where I am in the Midwest but we did get some snow for the first full day of spring and it is still well below normal temperature wise.

Actually we are doing quite well for winter here.
Started off DAMN COLD, now it is rather moderate.
So it hit rather hard and fast with heavy snow fall and temps at 0F or below but is petering out nicely into spring.

So far not one of the worst Michigan winters in the snow belt.

Glad you made it through another nor'easter in good shape.

Mixed feelings. On the one hand, March/April is usually that nice sweet spot when my gas bill goes down and the electric doesn't go up much because the AC isn't running yet.
On the other hand, every cold day is one more day I don't have to deal with the Vampiric Zebra Infestation, so my blood, which prefers to stay inside my body, is actually thankful for an extended winter.

We've had a really tame winter in southern WI, much like Aranarth's experience in Michigan. I was able to bike-commute up until the first or second week of December when we received our first snow fall. Aside from the standard 2-3 week cold snap we get (which most of the country seems to experience at the same time), it's been pretty mild here. My parents house in NY had several downed trees and lost power from Nor'easter #2. I think their psyche might be shattered after this current storm

This morning there is still snow on the ground and about half an inch of ice in the porch water bowl, again. To me this qualifies as the Indiana fifth season, "Still Winter" (Jeff Foxworthy). Thankfully the wind has finally died down from twenty plus mph with gusts to thirty plus mph.

Yeah been working remotely lately because of travel issues. It snowed a bit but at least it's courteous enough to already start melting.

You must be farther north of me then. I'm more central Indiana and the snow and ice at least had the courtesy to melt.

It was thawing quite nicely in VT until Nor'Easter #3 smacked us with 2-4 feet statewide (#4 missed us) and refroze the ground.

Anyone care to guess what happens to dirt roads over many freeze/thaw cycles with standing snow?

We got about 5 inches in Maryland. Yay for day off of work yesterday. Doggos are loving playing in it.

Here in the heart of the MidWest it was 65 F yesterday and 75 F today. Spring dun sprung.

Yeah I was very confused this morning. Couldn't tell whether it all melted already, if everyone is really good at shoveling today, or if you guys just didn't have any snow. Had to dig myself out of a 6" blanket from the south!
