Happy Father's Day Weekend

Sat Jun 16, 2018 7:32 pm

Best wishes to you and yours. I think my kids appreciate the computers I build for them so they made an appropriate cake for this weekend with a little help from mom.
Not bad to be a nerdy dad :)

Very Cool!

I'm getting to grill and given how hot the weather here is I might just throw the chicken outside and let the sun do the job.

Leaving the house at 4:30am to fly out on a business trip. So nothing for me. The irony is my dad flies back into town about eight hours after I leave from the airport. So we’ll sort of be spending Fathers day doing the same things at he same place, just not at the same time.

Happy Father's Day to All. I've been busy since 8 AM, most of it out of the house, much of it with my kid, and am now ready to sit and drink ice water. Been a good day.

Well I had a terrible day at work today...busy as hell....then I had to come home and order 2 replacement A/C units as my current ones are on the fritz. That was a $1,200 expense I was not planning for. Well only good thing is I will be cool here again when they arrive, and at least the shipping for the new units was free. Ill have to survive some very hot days though until they arrive though...

600 each? Are they just large window units? Even mini-splits go for more than that last I checked.

They are through wall units, go in a sleeve that is in the wall.

That cake is, indeed, appropriately nerdy.

My dad got something similar. He's been puttering with the soldering iron lately and has also depleted most of his electronics surplus stock recently, so his gift was a massive supply of 1% 0.25W resistors and an assortment of perfboard for custom solder projects. Nothing he couldn't afford to buy himself, but requiring a string of eBay search terms he's unlikely to consider. He was tickled.
