Thinkercon 2018

Fri Nov 02, 2018 10:01 am

Has anyone else signed up for ThinkerCon? I'm very excited to go. My best friend and I will be attending, and we're doing a few days of vacation in Huntsville with the kids.

If I lived closer to AL I would check it out. Looks interesting and since I home school my children they would enjoy the educational aspects.

I'll gladly admit that Drew gets much of his physics/chemistry from many of the content creators that are going to be there. One of the perks of homeschooling.

The event was fabulous. I basically got to spend 4 hours hanging out with and talking to a dozen or so people that I watch on YouTube fairly religiously. It was a very low-key and calm setting and everyone was very down-to-earth and approachable. I would highly recommend the next one for anyone who spends time on the Educational Content side of YouTube.
People I talked to directly:
Destin Sandlin (Smarter Everybody Day, No Dumb Questions)
Matt Whitman (Ten Minute Bible Hour, No Dumb Questions)
Anne (Anne of all Trades)
Grady (Practical Engineering)
Sally LePage
April Wilkerson
Jamie Seymour (the nature of science)

People who were there that I met but didn’t talk to directly (they were on a panel, etc):
Mark Rober
Bob Clagget (I like to Make Stuff)
Diana Cowern (physics girl)
Matt Parker (festival of the spoken nerd)
Jorge Chen (phd comics)
