I should be able to make it this year. If I have time, maybe I will even whip up an exclusive batch of TRBBQ homebrew.

Damn, I'd better start digging through the crawlspace for stuff for the swap-O-rama.

I'm hunting for Plex server gear this year. If anyone has a modern-ish core processor, or a really cheap Ryzen (so I can afford a transcoding GPU), I'm in.

Heh... unfortunately most of the gear I bring isn't "modern-ish"... and most is closer to "Starfalcon fodder". Last year I think the most modern things I brought were a "new in box" AM3+ motherboard and some 802.11n USB WiFi adapters. Unloaded the WiFi adapters (and a few used but still functional HDDs), but got no takers on the motherboard.

Woohoo! This was an awesome surprise to start the weekend, DragonDaddyBear was feeling extremely generous and PayPal'd me the funds to bring back a blast from the BBQ past. I guess he's really serious about making sure his kids have an awesome vacation. :o

We had the bounce castle at BBQ XI, five years ago already if you can believe it. I'll be calling in to reserve it for this year on Monday.

Thanks a ton to DragonDaddyBear for bouncing the extra mile!

First post updated with my take on the attendee list. Please let me know if you're in the wrong category or if you're not in one at all and need to be. :)

Also, with a fire and fireworks extremely unlikely again this year, I'm open to suggestions for how to keep the party going later into the evening. Or, you know, it could just be chill time, I'm fine with that too.

If you're looking for headcount. It's me plus my friend again as well. She had fun last year so it wasn't hard to talk her into going again.

zgirl - My daughter still waxes rhapsodical about the ribs I brought back last time, which considering her age and the number of years involved, is a pretty amazing endorsement.

In attempts to fulfill one of Fish's desires, I've been trying to find thin-type glowsticks in a length between 2 inches (those failed miserably when we tried) and 8 inches (gets clogged in the cannon plumbing). I'm all ears for superior Google-fu, as everything I find in the 6 inch range be the fat ones with hooks, and unsuitable for potato insertion (from the potato's POV).

It sounds like you need a potato sabot.

The lip of the barrel is cut to form a knife-like edge (it's Sch 80 PVC), so no need for a sabot to ensure a proper seal. The glowsticks go in the aft end of the potato to give a streamer effect upon launch.

I suppose that if the glow-stick were mounted to the front side of the potato, it'd only be visible from the point of view of the target rather than the shooter. Hmmm.

Tell me you're actually coming this time.

Hey StarFalcon, btw; Does an Athlon 64 X2 5000+ bear any sentinemtal or vintage value to you? First .045 micron AMD cpu. If not, I figure it's a nice keychain.
