Fantastic time was had by all, love having this little mini-vacation every year and seeing all the peeps once again. :D
I'm thrilled about the Asus Lyra mesh wifi I won in the beanbag tourney. Also picked up couple older AMD motherboards and a fanless video card from Shoes, a sweet black and green PC case from Dposcorp, and a pimped out Optiplex 3020 (going to use it to upgrade my HTPC) and a Sonicwall firewall from Lonewolf.
Ribs, burgers, and dogs were all outstanding as usual and breakfast was was absolutely EPIC. The wacky lady next door threatening to call the DNR  on Ned was awesome. I LOVE that we kept firing potatoes regardless. I drank all the wheat beers I could find lol thanks everyone for the yummy brews - I got pretty loaded and giggly there. I actually tried to get up earlier and help cleanup, but there was like this army of little kids doing the work, being directed by fish - kudos to you guys.

Also, I have to find some more of this incredible beer:
https://foundersbrewing.com/our-beer/mas-agave/ :o

Thanks again to Fish and family, and we hope you enjoy that fancy tank we all went in on :D
I want to see pics once you get it all setup 8)

It's incredible and it'll be part of my BBQ wrap-up post. You guys are so awesome. Once Wren is up from her nap we're going to head over to Blue Fish Aquarium for some inspiration. It might even been something I turn into a front page series instead of hiding it in the forums, we'll see, the plan is only just starting to come together. :o

Unfortunately I couldn't make it due to illness :(

Glad everyone had a great time at what may be the last TR BBQ.

Long live Tech Report.

Are you doing that to spite me or force me into reading the "front page" for the first time in 16+ years? :P

all jokes aside, I couldn't have had a better weekend than the one with all you mates at the TRBBQ.

I'm glad JBI took away my homebrewing gear - may it get some use after years of stagnation!

I also brought 5 lock boxes with me (holds 100's of keys), and somehow got rid of 3 out of the 5! I gave the last 2 away elsewhere the following day.

I ended up with 4th place in the cornhole tourney to be bested by Taylor (she's definitely the most improved player from last year - hands down), and the prize I chose was the EVGA X299 MICRO mobo, I'll be sure to put it to good use soon!

Convo's with so many friends, endless rare craft beers, homebrew's from JBI, heavenly ribs by z-girl, fun with doggies that Jay brought and his friend (Danny?) and her rib-eating doberman "Noxx".

I still miss the campfires on the beach and the fireworks, but Capt Ned replaced that with shooting potato ammo at floating boats in the lake. Score!

What else... breakfast like non-other by Fishie's mom, the stories shared by all, and fun ride to/from with Frobozz & wife with interesting music selections to boot!

Thanks again to all who came and Jeff/Nathan of TR for representing the best this place has to offer.

Peace out!

Looks like a great time! Very peeved at Frontier for my flight problems and just how tired I was first thing Saturday morning. Being up for over 36 hours Thur/Fri had a lot to do with it, but bummed I missed it for sure.

I had a similar problem once because I was routing through Phoenix to have a chance for a long layover in Albuquerque. There was a thunderstorm in Phoenix that shut down all flights for the whole day. So, I was unable to make the stop off in ABQ for a day to visit friends and barely made the connection through to El Paso.

Morimoto is my cat's name. He's named after the best Iron Chef.

And I like some of the Japanese ones better, personally. He’s my favorite of the US version, 2nd only to Flay. :D

Morimoto is by far the best Iron Chef of any iteration.

If y'all are strictly talking Iron Chefs yeah. But chefs in general I'd have to go with Alton Brown and David Chang (Only because I love, love Korean food).

Alton Brown is transcendent, not just as a chef but as a human. You name your cat Morimoto for fun, you change your son's name to Alton if he can prove himself worthy.

Director of Photography. He worked in the biz for about 10 years after leaving UGA (actually graduated in 2004) where he'd studied film/video production. He quit that job to go to NECI (right here one floor below where I'm sitting) because his then-wife was sick of his complaining about TV food shows and told him to do something about it. He's still NECI's star graduate.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

I need to thank y'all, for an excellent time, and a super-successful swap meet this year.

How successful? Well...I could afford this to replace my two Geforce 1070 cards.

Selling the two 1070 cards, plus a little extra side-work for someone, let me upgrade the oldest part of my system (my old standby Dell 2408WFP) to match.
(Dell S2719DGF 27" Freesync, 2560x1440p, since the newest drivers support Freesync)

This will be the end of my five-year system rebuild.

As usual, I loved re-meeting everyone, tasting Z-Girl's awesome ribs that we all look forward to every year, getting to talk tech without eyes glazing over, and I can't wait until we do it again.

I hit the high points. Got most of the cables for ethernet, Voip and AP's pulled, the door swipes were back online. The speakers and projectors were still mostly down. Now that its been a couple weeks I got most of it back up. Still a couple printers I have to pull new cable for, but its mostly fixed. Supposedly, they're going to withhold some money from the painters to make up for the damage, but I doubt that
