Don't any of you have doctors to turn to for advice? I like building my own PCs, but if I were concerned about my health I would ask a certified endocrinologist, not random people on the internetz.

PS Yes, you can google stuff. So can doctors, who also have 1000s of hours of experience.

Pretty much the entire thread amounts to everyone telling the OP to stop believing random BS he reads on the internet and at least consider the possibility that the medical community knows a thing or two about diabetes...

A cow-orker 100% buys into the carburetor conspiracy theory, fluoridated water being bad, and a whole raft of other conspiracy theories, up to and including that WTC was a controlled demolition. Somehow he sees fit to mock flat-Earthers and deride them because no matter how you explain how they're wrong, there's a "but!" with them that you can never satisfy.

It'd be fascinating if it wasn't so infuriating, especially around election time.

I have a relative (on my wife's side) like that. Chemtrails, Obama is a Muslim, 9/11 was an inside job, you name it. The part I really don't get is, if you ignore the fact that he seems to buy into every crackpot conspiracy theory that crosses his e-mail inbox or Facebook feed, he's actually a pretty smart guy. Seriously, WTF?!?? How do otherwise intelligent people behave like this without their head exploding?

Ayuh, same deal with my cow-orker. The Dunning-Kruger effect is real; I've seen it in several people with high INT who've failed their WIS checks.

Now I'm wondering if "cow-orker" was intentional.

It almost makes sense somehow.
